This is a fairly new addition to Faydell, constructed in the demand of Lady Alianna. The paddocks are for elderly horses, or horses who's owners visits are infrequent, so that the horse can have as much freedom as it likes, and is not stuck in the castle stables. The paddock is a huge fenced area of land, a large proportion of it is flat plains perfect for riding across, there are highly vegetated areas for food, and a small part of it ventures into Faydell forest itself to give shelter and privacy.
Unfortunately, Lady Alianna cannot afford to run this service for free, but she only asks for a small donation, and as Lady Alianna is so busy with her duties, a job of Paddock master is available.

Scarlet rode Ember up to the paddocks. The horse eyed the paddock with interest and Scarlet could sense both excitement and fear radiating from her. Looking for someone to ask, she jumped down from the saddle and lead Ember towards the adjoining house. As there was no-one around, she simply scribbled a note for lady Alianna, who she assumed was in charge- explaining when and why she had left Ember, and leaving the coins required on top.
She unlatched the gate to the paddock and walked in leading Ember, then set about unharnessing her. Once she was free, she rubbed her neck and then kissed her on the nose, and could feel
a lump in her throat. Ember had been Scarlet's firm friend since she could remember, her only friend for a majority of the time. Scarlet climbed over the fence to stand on the other side with Meral and watched as Ember rode away to investigate her new home in the paddock. After a few minutes quiet observation she turned to walk back, feeling an odd mixture of happiness and loss.
Need a ride? asked Meral, and lowered his neck so Scarlet could climb on.
