A small friendly tavern offering the finest home brewed ale around. The atmosphere is cosy and relaxed most of the time, although every so often drunken brawls between the locals occur, often in which large tankerds are thrown across the room. The staff are cautious of newcomers, but once befriended are very welcoming.

Scarlet pushed open the door to the tavern warily, then stepped inside allowing Trysten room to get in as well. Every eye in the tavern turned to them, and all coversation died down until the room was filled with quiet. Scarlet felt like she should say something but didn't know what. She walked over to the bar, forcing herself to keep calm and sat down on a stool. The bar maid stood not far away, cleaning a glass with an old rag. Scarlet threw a glance at Trysten for reassurence.
"What are you having?" she asked, very aware that everyone was listening to her. She didn't really know what to do in this situation and felt very out of place.

Trysten felt awkward as they entered the Tavern. He hated situations like that, but he was glad that he wasn't alone. That would have made things a lot worse. He sat down on a stool next to Scarlet, feeling incredibly out of place.
"I think I'll try the ale. It's supposed to be quite good," he said, as quietly as he could. He was aware that they were sat in full view of the rest of the Tavern. He looked around. There seemed to be a small booth down one end that was unoccupied.
"Tell you what," he began, whispering to Scarlet. "Tell me what you want and I'll get them in. There's a table over there that's free." He indicated to the booth in the corner, and then looked back at Scarlet to see what she wanted.

"I'll have the same," Scarlet replied quietly, giving Trysten a grateful smile. She touched his arm. "I'll be at the table then."
Leaving Trysten, she made her way over to the table, ignoring the gazes of everyone watching her. She sat down, and only then did she look properly around the tavern. Most people now were watching Trysten as he stood beside the bar. There weren't too many people here, as it was only midday, but Scarlet could imagine it was more lively at night. In the far corner, three large farmers huddled round a table sipping their drinks. There were no other women except the barmaid, and Scarlet wished she was wearing a hat to cover her hair. With her traveling clothes, which were now dirty from traveling here, she might have blended in a bit better. In the corner the three men began talking among themselves, and soon conversations started up again all through the tavern. Scarlet sighed, glad that the silence was over, then watched and waited for Trysten to come over to the table.

Trysten smiled at Scarlet as she walked away. He turned back to the barmaid, and asked for the drinks, making sure he smiled at her once he had done so. He nodded at two of the men who were also stood at the bar. The silence had subsided now, but Trysten thought that appearing friendly wouldn't be such a bad idea. He murmered a word of thanks as he paid the barmaid a few coins for the drinks, and took them over to the table where Scarlet was sat. He sat down opposite her and took a sip of his beer.
"So," he began. "How long have you been in Erivale?" He looked at her with his dark eyes, wondering if she'd noticed- or minded- that she was the only female in the tavern, apart from the barmaid.

Matthew walked into the tavern, feeling very grumpy. He hadn't had a good day, and now he couldn't find his twin sister anywhere. How could I lose her? He wondered. He sat down at the bar and asked for some ale, which was brought irght away. Then next thing he knew, he was finishing his second ale, and was asking for more

"Thanks," Scarlet said, as Trysten handed her a tankard. She took a cautious sip as he sat down. The ale was good, she had to admit, even though she wasn't particularly a beer drinking kind of girl.
"I've been in Erivale for a little while." she replied, "I'm staying at the inn in the city, The Fair Dragon inn. I've explored the city a bit, but I thought Faydell would be a good place to start exploring out of the city. I haven't been to Swyncrest at all yet, and I dare say there's a lot more of Arinesse that I haven't seen. What about you? When did you arrive? And if you don't mind me asking..." she added, "Where did you come from?"
She took another sip of her drink, then looked across to the bar where another man as standing, buying a drink. he didn't seem to be talking to any of the locals, but nor did they stop talking when he came in. She turned back to Trysten, flicking long strands of her hair over her shoulder to stop them from draping into her drink.

Matthew saw the elf and human sitting in at the corner table. He walked over next asked. "Have either of you seen a 17 year old girl. She's about this height, has curly hair and blue eyes. She sort of looks like me." He hoped that they knew, because he didn't have a clue where his sister was.

"Sorry, I haven't seen her. I don't really know my way around Faydell, we only arrived from Arinesse a little while ago."
She turned to Trysten and smiled. Normally, she would have invited the stranger to sit with them, but he seemed in a hurry to find his sister.
"If we see her we'll let her know you're looking for her." she reassured him. "She can't be far though...Faydell isn't a very big place. I'm sure you'll find her."

Matt sighed and said, "No I won't," He sat down at the table. "She will find me, but I don't know why I'm so worried about her." He sighed. "I know she can take care of herself, but well...I just can't help it," He put his head in his hands and wondered why he was still worrying.

Elizabeth walked into the Tavern, looking for her brother. "Matt!" she said when she spotted him. "I just bought us horses so that we can travel too the city! Isn't that great!" She was so excited, she was bursting inside. "I bought them from Lady Alianna, who said she would see us in the Dragon Riders division!" Isn't it cool!" She saw his face turn to anger. She knew that face, and she'd been reading his thoughts. "I didn't run away, I told you where I was going." She was feeling angry, "And you don't have to worry about me so much, I can take care of myself!" She stormed out of the tavern, knocking over Matt's bear with her magic.

Matthew sighed and said to the people he didn't know. "I have to go." He left the spilt beer on the table. He walked out of the tavern, feeling very sad.
Matt looked aroun for Elizabeth "Liz! Liz!" Then he spotted her nearby, with two horses. What?! HE thought. "You bought us horses?" She smiled, and seemed to say, now you appreciate me. "Yes I did, now lets go to the City of Arinesse!" She climbed on one of the horses, and left the other. Matt climbed on his horse, and smiled. "Thanks Liz," And then they both rode towards the city.

Trysten was about to answer Scarlet's questions when someone about his age came over asking if they'd seen someone. He was slightly surprised when the boy sat down at the table with them, but guessed that he must have lived locally and apparently didn't have a problem in approaching strangers, as Trysten did. Trysten was thinking of something to say to him, when a girl walked in. The way she spoke to the boy he guessed that she was the girl he had been looking for. Trysten watched the events with an amused sort of puzzlement, wondering who the two were, when the girl left like a whirlwind, and sent the boy's beer flying across the table. Trysten narrowly managed to avoid getting soaked, but as he was going to ask the boy what was going on, he left. Shaking his head slightly, he turned back to Scarlet.
"Do you think it's always this eventful?" he asked, slightly confused as to what they had just got caught up in. He took another sip of his beer, and looked around the tavern. None of the other customers seemed to have been phased by the outburst.

As Matthew's beer went flying across the table, Scarlet tried (unsuccessfully) to move out of the way. She banged her hip on the table and still managed to get covered, not that anyone noticed, or at least - she hoped they hadn't. When the twins had left, she replied to Trysten.
"You know what, I have a feeling that this is far from the cosy village pub stereotype." she said with a small smile. She finished the last of her drink, then wrung out her shirt as best she could. Luckily it hadn't gone see-through. (She had had a bad experience with shirts before...long, and very embarrassing, story)
"Maybe we should think about heading back," she said, "Faydell is very beautiful, it reminds me of home even, but I think I'm missing the hustle and bustle of the city!"

Trysten finished the last of his beer and nodded when Scarlet suggested leaving. He managed to get out of the seat without resting his arm on the pool of beer that had been left on the table. He waited for Scarlet to get up before starting to make his way over to the door. He noticed that they were still being watched by most of the locals at the bar, but it didn't bother him as much anymore. Leaving wasn't as bad as walking in.
He held open the door for Scarlet and they stepped outside into the cool air. Trysten looked for the road they had come down to arrive in Faydell, and turned back to Scarlet.
"Well, I guess we should be going then," he said, as they began to walk back to Arinesse.
