Laielyn's Post for Cavalry Trainee under the supervision of Earl Christoph[/u]
Laielyn trooped nervously into the Training Grounds, a slightly worried expression on her face as she led Eryn, her mare, out across the fields to where she was supposed to be meeting the Earl. As if it wasn’t enough, She thought nervously, chewing on her bottom lip, That I have to humiliate myself in my first training session by proving that I lack in any physical strength whatsoever… I also have to do it in front of an important Noble.
She sighed, and flung her head back, widening creased-up eyes as she frowned to gaze at the completely clear blue sky. At least she could show off her skills on horseback. While she knew she would end up uselessly flailing any weapon about – and most probably decapitating someone in the process – she was a good rider. She looked about, trying to spot the Earl. There were only a few other ups so early in the day, but she easily picked out the Earl. He did have dashing good looks, but the way he held himself suggested that he knew this to be true. Shrugging off her preconceptions, Laielyn straightened her back and walked over to greet him.
She had worn her old riding wear for this session; plain brown hose with a loose cream tunic over the top, and she bowed to the Earl as she introduced herself. “My Lord,” She said, addressing him in the appropriate way, “My name is Laielyn. I am here to train for the level of Trainee in the Cavalry Division.” He looked at her with one heavy eyebrow raised. “Well good morning then, Laielyn,” He boomed cheerily. Laielyn looked up. This was not how she had anticipated him to behave… “Today,” He continued, “I just want to see the quality of your skills on horseback. We will move on to fighting from horseback during your next session, when we will cover as much as we can – I hear you are from then on transferring to the Mages division?” Laielyn nodded numbly. “Well then! Get cracking! I want to see you riding around this field like you’ve never ridden before! Start off walking and then ease into a trot, then a canter, then a gallop. Are you accomplished enough to do some jumps?” “Yes, My Lord.” Laielyn said, recovering her voice. “In which case we shall afterwards move on to improving your form while you are jumping.”
Laielyn nodded, slowly regaining her confidence, and mounted Eryn. Nudging the horse into walking forwards, she rode carefully along half the length of the field, ensuring she kept her head up, her back straight, and her elbows tucked ni at all times. If the Earl was to assess her on her form, she wanted this to be perfect. Perhaps it would make up for the performance she knew was coming next session…
She squeezed in with her knees and flicked her reins, and Eryn switched gently to a trot, Laielyn rising and falling with the horses gait so that the ride was as smooth as possible and easier for the horse. She was at that point immensely grateful for owning such a well-trained horse; she was familiar with Eryn, and it was far easier for her to prove her skills on this sturdy mare. She switched again, this time into a canter, and from then on she really enjoyed her ride. The feel of the wind speeding past her ears made her smile dreamily, and she was barely thinking at all as they slid into a gallop and returned to see the Earl looking quite impressed.
“Well done,” He said importantly, “Your skills on horseback are very impressive. I just hope your skills with a weapon are equally as good.” Laielyn’s face fell. “I’m afraid not, My Lord.” She said bashfully. “Well, we’ll soon see about that.” He winked. “I’ve trained some of the finest soldiers in the King’s Army! I’m certain you’ll be fine by the time I’m through with you.” “Yes, My Lord.” Laielyn sighed. “Should we move onto the jumps?” Christoph looked at her out of one, beady eye. “That,” He said curtly, “Is exactly what I was about to suggest.” “Of course, My Lord – I am sorry if I seemed at all out of line.” “Not a problem.” He grinned, changing back to his former, jovial self. “Now, see those jumps just over there? Yes? Well then, I simply want to see you make them all. When you’ve done that – then you can leave.” “Of course.” Laielyn grinned
This was too easy. She could do jumps blindfolded… As long as she didn’t have to think about jumping whilst wielding a weapon, she would be just fine. As expected, she sailed cleanly over each jump, and then trotted around to the Earl, who looked fairly disgruntled to see she had so easily completed the task. “Next time,” He said as he approached, “I plan to put you on one of the Castle’s horses. Your riding skills are superb – but that means nothing if you can’t wield a weapon. I will see you in a few days time; until then, I want you to be doing at least 20 press-ups a day, You need to get some muscle into those skinny arms of yours. Until then.” He dismissed her. “Thank you, My Lord.” She bowed again, and then lied, “I look forward to our next session…” [/color]

Training for Page in Cavalry Division with Earl Christoph.
Scarlet arrived to the training grounds mid-morning. The Earl did not appear to be there yet, so she took the advantage of a quick warm up and rode Ember three times around the track, relishing the wind that rushed through her hair and caused her shirt sleeves to billow like miniature sails. She slowed when she realised the Earl had arrived, riding a light grey stallion towards the far end of the grounds.
“Good Morning.” She said politely. The Earl returned her greeting then continued; “We will being trying a few jumps today, as no doubt you will be faced with obstacles in the battle field.”
Scarlet agreed. She had practised jumping with Ember since she was a little girl, over logs and tree stumps in the forests back home. The jumps here were also made of wood and progressively got higher in length as they went along. The last jump was the biggest, it wasn’t just high but wide as well; it had a hedge along one side and a small ditch filled with water at the other. She had never attempted anything that big before.
She pulled the reins, turning Ember around and urged her into a trot. The Earl rode alongside the jumps, watching her form and technique. The first jump she cleared with ease, giving her a boost in confidence. The second jump she cleared likewise. The third jump, she approached at a slight angle and had to fight to stay on Ember's back. She bent low as she approached the final jump, so low that Embers mane streamed back almost into her eyes. As she reached the jump, she went through everything she had been taught carefully and for the split second she was in the air, she thought: That’s it, I’ve cleared it! She hadn't. Ember came crashing to the ground, her front legs giving way and Scarlet skidded from the saddle, the force of the fall sending her flying across the grass and into the ditch.
She leapt to her feet, sopping wet, unaware that the Earl had dismounted and was running towards her. Within seconds she was at Ember’s side, her eyes brimming with tears of anger at herself as she watched Ember struggling to stand on trembling legs.
“What did I do wrong?” she cried, stroking Ember's mane with shaking hands. “Nothing, you jumped perfectly.” The Earl replied. “Then why…” “Ember is an old horse Scarlet.” He said, his voice calm and composed, “She couldn’t handle the jump. It wasn’t your fault.” “She is NOT an old horse” Scarlet spluttered, shaking with anger, then realised she was addressing the Earl. She lowered her volume, but still stood with clenched fists. “She’s jumped before! I mean, I’ve had her for ages, since I was a little girl I’ve practiced with her and…” “Precisely my point.” said the Earl. Realisation swept through her, and she realised the Earl was right. He waited patiently for her to calm down.
“Do you want to continue the lesson?” he asked, looking down a her with a strange expression on his face. Scarlet faltered, wanting to scream ‘No’ at the top of her lungs and run away (she needed to blame something, and at the moment, that something was the Earl.) Instead, she looked steadily at him,
“Yes.” She replied coldly, feeling her throat tighten.
“I will have someone return Ember to the stables, and you will use my horse for the rest of the session.” Scarlet nodded.
Archery was first, as it had been last time. She was now trying to master the art of riding and shooting arrows at the same time. Scarlet was not very good at this. The first time she rode down the line of targets, she only got one arrow on the boards, and this had been a lucky shot. The Earl shouted out advice, which Scarlet accepted silently. She practised this until she could ride down the row, and an arrow hit every board. In three boards the arrow had pierced the centre ring.
Now she was to practice wielding a sword. The Earl led her to the patch of straw dummies. She was familiar with this now, and slashed and stabbed her way through the dummies, releasing all of her pent up anger on them. She only stopped when all the dummies had been decapitated.
She sheathed her sword, watching the Earl walk over to her.
“That was good Scarlet, a good variation of techniques, much better than last time. Only one dummy left standing.” “Where?” she asked, speaking for the first time since she had told the Earl she wished to continue training. The Earl pointed to one of the dummies at the far end. In a flash, Scarlet released three arrows in quick succession towards the remaining dummy. One punctured its head, the other it’s stomach. The third fell short.
Scarlet smiled despite herself and slid down from the Earl’s horse.
“I’m sorry about before.” She said, “And thank you for my training sessions. I’m hoping to apply to the Dragon rider division.” The Earl nodded in response.
“You better see to your horse.” He reminded her. “Of course.” Scarlet curtsied slightly, even though she was wearing her sparring clothes and not a dress, then turned on her heel and ran out of the grounds.

First Post for Advanced in the Spies Division with The Sovereign
Trysten was eager to get to the next rank, and he arrived at the training ground earlier, so that he could warm up. He sprinted around the track that ran round the edge of the training grounds. Trysten had always been a keen runner. It was one of the few things that allowed him to forget everything else. As he completed his second lap he spotted Valros, walking towards him. He slowed his pace, and jogged over to meet him.
“Good day, Trysten,” Valros greeted him. Trysten bowed his head slightly.
“Good day, sir,” Trysten replied. He bounced up and down on his toes, seemingly full of energy. He was eager to carry on with his training, knowing that the harder he trained, the further he would progress. Valros eyed him with a look of amusement across his face, and began walking to the obstacle course at the other end of the training ground.
“Today, we’re going to build up your stealth abilities,” he informed him as they walked. Trysten nodded, as he mentally prepared himself. It was no use having too much energy when concealment was required. As they reached the course Trysten took off the belt that attached his knife to his leg, and placed his jacket on the floor beside it. He didn’t need the extra weight if he was going to perform at his best.
“Actually, Trysten, I think you should hold onto your knife and jacket for now,” commented Valros. Trysten frowned slightly. “In a different situation you may be required to use your spying abilities without having chance to remove any unnecessary articles. It is important that you develop your skills with this in mind.” Trysten nodded, understanding The Sovereign’s idea, but feeling slightly foolish at having to have it pointed out to him.
“Right, this is what you’re going to do. Starting from this end, you need to make your way across the course, but the object is to do it as stealthily as possible. As you may have noticed, the course is divided down the middle. I am going to be walking down the middle of the course, and you have to follow me without being seen. When you’re ready, we’ll begin.” Valros took his place at the start of the course, and waited until Trysten had climbed to the first platform.
As The Sovereign began to walk, Trysten watched, crouching in the shadows. He waited until he was a significant distance away, before he began to move. His first move was to jump from the first platform to the next. The second was connected to a bar going to the next platform. Trysten guessed that you were supposed to walk across it to improve your balance, but that would easily get him noticed. Instead he began to crawl across it, as he had on countless tree branches before.
When he reached the next platform he saw that the next obstacle on his side was a large rope wall. He knew that there was no way he could climb it without getting spotted. Making sure he was in the cover of the shadows, he looked for his other options. On the other side of the course there was a line of monkey bars. If he could jump between his platform and the one on the other side, he would have no problem getting across. He stepped back as far as he could. With his eyes constantly switching between his destination and The Sovereign- who was walking further away as the seconds passed by- he waited for the ideal moment... then jumped.
He misjudged it by a centimetre and his feet failed to make contact with the platform. In the moment, he had just managed to grab onto the platform with one hand, but he was slipping. He looked over at Valros to see if he had been noticed, but he was lucky. Reaching up with the other hand, he grabbed the platform and began to haul himself up. After getting his arms onto the platform the task wasn’t too difficult. He swung his legs up, and remained crouching, as he decided how to proceed.
The monkey bars proved to be as easy as he had thought, as he crawled his way across the top. Following that it was a matter of finding the best path to take to reach the end of the course. Further on Trysten had to make another leap, but he had learned from his previous attempt, and this time managed it with ease, landing silently in his crouched position.
Valros was waiting for him at the end of the course, as he dropped silently from the shadows of the wall above him.
“I am impressed. Trysten,” The Sovereign began. “You have improved significantly since our first session, and you seem to be more aware of your surroundings. You did well.” Trysten nodded his thanks, and said that he looked forward to their next training session. He walked out of the training grounds feeling exhausted, but satisfied.

Training for Trainee in the Archery Division with Earl Christoph Carmen walked onto the Archery Field, she saw the Earl waiting for her on the other side of the field. As she walked, her long red hair blew in the sun and her green eyes sparkled. She reached the other side of the field to find the Earl smiling at her. “My Lord,” She began. “I’m here to begin my training as an archer,” She looked up to him hopefully. “Well, then,” He replied, “Lets not loose any time. Come over here.” Christoph walked closer to the end of the field. “Over there are three targets, I want you to hit each of them, strait through the middle,” He knew it would be a challenge.
Carmen stared at the target. They’re really far away, but I think I can…who am I kidding? I’m not that good an archer. “I’ll try my best sir,” She said to the Earl. She took and an arrow from her quiver and placed it in her bow, swiftly. Then she raised it and was about to shoot, when the Earl interrupted her. “What are you doing?” He said, leaving a look on Carmen’s face of confusion. “That’s not how you hold a bow,” He walked over and fixed her arms. He grabbed her in what felt like a hug, then fixed them and whispered in her ear, “Now try. Do your best, and believe you can do it,” He stood back, leaving Carmen in the same position. She took aim, only thoughts of joy going through her head, and fired the first arrow.
The arrow struck the target an inch off the middle. Carmen sighed. I didn’t do it, she thought sadly, but her thoughts were interrupted. “What a glorious shot, my girl!” The Earl said happily, “You’re the first one to get it on the first try!” Carmen looked at him in surprise, “But I missed. I didn’t hit the middle, sir.” The Earl smiled at her again, “Yes, you didn’t hit the middle, but you hit the target,” He began laughing. When he was finished he explained. “I normally get a lot of people out here who don’t know haw to even hold a bow. Most of them can’t even hit the target on first try, but you.” He looked at her, his handsome smile finding his face again for the third time. “ You hit the target!”
Carmen smiled at herself with pride. “Then I won’t let you down sir,” She moved back and started on the next target. She got ready as the Earl had shown her and took another arrow from the quiver. She held herself up like the count had told her, and fired the next arrow.
It hit, almost strait middle, it was half and inch off. She smiled to realize she was improving. She looked back at the Earl. “I almost did it!” She said, completely forgetting to say sir. “Good,” He said. “You’re improving. Now fire the last arrow,” Carmen smiled her green eyes sparkling. She held herself up, quicker than before, and got another arrow. She closed her eyes after taking aim, and fired, testing a theory.
The arrow hit strait through the middle. She heard the Earl behind her and opened her eyes. I did it! She thought. She turned around to the handsome Earl. He was standing there, with a broad smile on his face. “You are the best Trainee I’ve had all day. Is it true you want to be a Dragon Rider?” Carmen wasn’t sure what to say, so she nodded her head. “Good, because you’ll make a great one,” His smiled left, but he still had a twinkle in his eye. “I’ll meet you here again, same time tomorrow, alright?” She began to walk away. “Yes sir.”

Additional Post for Page in Calvary Division training with Earl Christoph
Nelra rode onto the training grounds, steering her horse with her legs rather than her feet as she was attempting to string her bow while in the saddle, she figured she would likely be needing it. It was a difficult task, as every time she almost had it strung, her horse gave her a little bump. Finally she succeeded, and started to search the grounds for the Earl. She spotted him by the forest at the edge of the training grounds and turned her horse towards him, gently pulling her horse to a stop once she reached him.
“Today,” the Earl said, “we are going to go in the forest. I’ve rigged up a little course for you to do. There’s going to be practice for both your archery skills and your sword skills. There are targets, some stationary, some moving, you’ve got to hit as many as you can with your arrows. There’s also some of the straw dummies that will be moving towards you for you to get with your sword. Get as many of them as you can then come back out and I’ll go see how well you did. Good luck.”
Nelra nodded as the Earl finished, to show that she understood what it was that she had to do. She nudged her mare through the trees, readying her bow as she went through, and making sure that she would easily be able to switch between her weapons. Once inside the forest her eyes quickly adjusted to the dimmer lighting. She searched for her first target. It dropped out of a nearby tree, she shot it before it managed to descend more than a couple inches. Her arrow hit the center with a thwack. Two more targets appeared, she hit those as quickly as she hit the first. A straw dummy came out of the trees to her left. She swiftly exchanged bow for sword and beheaded the dummy. She continued on in this manner for a while, switching between weapons as fast as she could.
Finally when she could see no more targets or dummies, and her arms were beginning to ache, she turned and exited the forest. The Earl saw her exit and went through the trees to she how she had done. He emerged again, several minutes later.
“Impressive, you hit almost everything. Good work. You may go.”
Nelra thanked him and rode off, replacing her weapons in their proper spots as she went.

((OOC: My previous post was note meant to be similar to Scarlet's post before it. I'd started writing it right after I made my first post, before I'd even seen Scarlet's post. I'd gotten the idea for the straw dummies form a book I'd read, and the archery part just seemed to be the next logical step to take after my first post. I'm sorry if it seemed like I was copying Scarlet's post, but copying other people's work isn't something that I would do...))

Accepted Carmen, you have now made the level of trainee in the archery division.
Nelra, you are also accepted. I now see that the similarity in yours and Scarlet's post must have been coincidence, but I hope you can appreciate what it looked like to me when I read through them and that I acted as I thought best. Anyway, congratulations- you have now reached the level of Page in the Cavalry division.

Post by Drakan Thrice on Aug 20, 2006 17:23:24 GMT
First post for Elite in Swordsmen training with the Sovereign
To the east of the grounds was a small gathering of trees, used for practising different methods of fighting. Over these trees that the sun could be seen, a swirling orange ball. Drakan gazed happily.
Behind him, footsteps could be heard and Drakan turned to see the Sovereign coming through the gate. Climbing off of his horse, Arkis. Drakan greeted Valros and wondered what they would be doing today, as the sovereign had brought along a horse of his own.
Valros however didn’t answer his thoughts. “Today boy, we are not going to be training as we had previously.” Drakan pulled a face, signalling to Valros that he was confused. He didn’t understand that there were any other ways to train. “Sorry?” he said. Valros replied, “We will simply be trying another means of fighting. Without weapons.”
Colour drained out of Drakan’s face. He wants me to use magic He thought bitterly. But I cant…
“Sir, I...I…Can’t...” Drakan began “Nonsense” Valros replied. “Anyone can use their fists to fight!”
Drakan breathed a sigh of relief. “What did you think I meant Drakan?” The Sovereign asked. Drakan looked into the wise face of Erivale’s ruler. He finally realised that his secret had to come out. “I can’t use magic sir” he said red faced and looking at the ground.
Valros placed a weathered hand on Drakan’s shoulder. “My boy, that is nothing to be ashamed of. I have known plenty of men who have not had a magical bone in their bodies!”
“But that’s just it.” Drakan said quietly “I am not a man but an elf” “That makes no difference.” Drakan didn’t reply. He just continued to look at his boots. “Drakan, You have to learn that it does not matter what abilities you possess. In life who you are matters more.”
Drakan couldn’t stop thinking about what Valros had said for the rest of his training session. Which consisted of many new things.
“Firstly my boy, we must do the assault course!” Drakan knew that Valros was aware of how much he detested this part of the training. Reluctantly, he dragged himself to the start and waited for the Sovereign to shout “go”. Eventually after what seemed like minutes to Drakan, he had begun. Three minutes and twenty four seconds later, Drakan lay on the grass at the end of the assault course.
He opened his eyes to find Valros beaming down at him. “Argh!” he yelled, rolling over. The mighty laugh of Valros thundered around the training ground. Slightly unnerved by the shock of his commander’s face in his, Drakan pulled himself up. He then learned that it was archery time.
Last time he tried archery, he had managed to hit the targets from twenty feet. This time however Valros pulled him back a further 10 feet, “Thirty feet away!” Drakan yelled in surprise. Valros nodded “Our own archers can hit a bulls eyes from much further” Drakan took a breath and shot his first arrow. To his own surprise and his commanders he hit the target not far from the centre. On his second attempt he missed the target he was aiming for completely, but the next two times, he hit the target again.
Not only was his commander pleased with Drakan, but he was also pleased with himself. It had been three weeks since he last tried his hand with a bow and arrow. And only four weeks since his first shot, yet here he was almost getting bull’s-eyes.
After archery, Valros decided it was time to practise using fists. Drakan thought he would be good at this, as he used to practice back home. He was right. They were soon finished.
As yet, Drakan had only used his horse, Arkis, outside of training. However, it seemed that was about to change. Valros climbed upon a horse, and simply said, “Right follow me” and galloped away.
Quickly Drakan climbed onto Arkis. With a click of his tongue, he persuaded his horse to canter until he was riding just behind The Sovereign.
At first Drakan believed they were going to practice skills like horse jumping and weaving between objects. But then they passed the cavalry area and moved towards the dragon keep. Surely they wouldn’t be heading there? But then Valros made a sharp left turn, which Drakan couldn’t copy without almost losing his balance. The forest. That was where they were headed.
Although it was known as the forest it was really just a place for the army to practice. As they reached the entrance, Valros turned and halted his horse. “Drakan, although I am allowing you to accompany me into this arena, I do not wish for you to use your weapon. You are here to watch only.” Drakan watched as his commander’s face suddenly became very grave. “Many elite soldiers have been killed in here and I am not willing for another to meet the same fate.”
Drakan’s ears twitched. Had he heard that correctly? Had The Mighty Valros really referred to him as an Elite soldier? Yes Drakan nodded in reply.
Once inside Drakan could not believe the swift way in which Valros moved and killed the many creatures that lurked inside. He had never seen such monsters.
Afterwards, Drakan was gathering his belongings to leave, when Valros came over to him. “Son, you have done very very well in training. I am proud to have been part of your training as I can see you are going to make an excellent swordsman. Possibly one that will be heard of around the world. I regret that this is our last session but you do have to make one by yourself. Next time I wish for you to venture into the forest arena by yourself. Doing so will see you become an Elite soldier in my army. This sword is for you” With that The sovereign walked away leaving Drakan holding the most beautiful sword he had ever seen.

Post for Page in the Archery Division with Earl Christoph
Carmen walked along the field the next day. The Earl stood waiting, not looking quite as happy as yesterday, but joyful enough. He smiled his familiar smile when she got there. “I’m sorry for this, but yesterday I didn’t get your name.” Carmen blushed, and stood back. “I’m Carmen Jewel, and I know who you are.” The Earl smiled again at her response. “Well Carmen, lets get started.” She took her bow, and was prepared to begin her next day of training.
The Earl walked to a white line on one side of the field, and indicated her to follow. Carmen walked there too, and the Earl explained the challenge. “My helper over there,” He indicated a tall man waving his hand, and standing next to a bunch of targets. “He’s going to make the targets move.” All of a sudden, the targets began to move back and forth. “Now you can begin by shooting all of them through the middle” Carmen felt quite nervous; she felt she wasn’t going to hit the targets. The got the first arrow ready and fired.
The arrow went strait past the target, and hit the hey stacks in the back. Carmen blushed as the Earl came forwards to comment. “What happened? Have you forgotten everything from Yesterday?” He looked quite angry. She knew she was quite young, but she could deal with criticism. “No sir,” She said, respectfully. “Alright then!” The Earl said angrily. “Do it right!” She went back to where she was standing before, and got another arrow ready.
I will hit it! She thought to herself. I will not let the Earl down. I must remember everything from yesterday. I must become a Dragon Rider She stared at the moving targets, and focused. The more she focused, the slower time went. All of a sudden the targets moved extremely slowly and when she released the arrow, it hit the target strait in the heart. She got another arrow and did it again. “Excellent!” The Earl said, his smile returning. “I knew you could do it!” He patted her on the back. “Now Carmen hit the last one, and we’ll get started on the next part of the lesson.” She focused again, and hit the last one.
“Good Job,” The Earl said. “Now, although I’m not a dragon rider, I train the cavalry. They all must know how to fire they’re arrow’s off a horse. You must know this also, if you’re planning to fire off a dragon. So I’m going to give you a short cavalry lesson.” He whistled, and two horses trotted out onto the field. He climbed on one and said, “You can borrow that one, he’s quite friendly,” Carmen smiled and climbed onto the brown horse.
She felt unsteady on a different horse than Ginger, but she knew she would get used to it. She rode around the field a few times, and then back to the Earl was waiting. “Good, now ride by those targets and hit them.” Carmen did as she was told. “Yaw!” She said, riding towards the targets. She pulled an arrow steady, while she was riding. The Earl was screaming corrections as she rode. “Straiten-up! Don’t slouch! Hold your arms steady! Use those Stirrups!” Carmen did exactly as she was told. She let the first arrow go, and it hit the target, a little off the middle.
The Earl rode over to her, and said, “Good try, now try doing it again and concentrate like you did with the moving targets.” Carmen knew what he meant. She hit the horse’s side with her heels, and rode again, but she concentrated more on the targets then on her riding. She saw one speed past, and she let another arrow go. It hit the middle directly. Carmen heard the Earl yell, “Great Job Carmen!” He rode over to her and smiled that familiar smile. “Good. I think that you’re ready,” Carmen didn’t know what to say, “Umm. Than-thank you,” The Earl’s smile faded. “You may now go back to the Requirement office, and apply for a Dragon rider. Good luck, Carmen Jewel.”

Drakan, although I will accept this post I wish to remind you that you are training in the swordman division. Your last post didn't seem to have much about your swordfighting. I realise that you would also cover other areas in your training as well (and that you need to describe other things in order to reach the wordcount) but in your next post could you please include more description about the swordplay.

Carmen, although this training post is very good, I cannot accept it as it is under the wordcount (only by 50 word, but rules are rules.)
Please write an extra 150 words about an extra session, and I will happily accept you.

Post for Page in the Archery Division with Earl Christoph - Extra Session
Carmen sadly walked onto the field. What did I miss? She wondered. She sadly looked at the Earl, who looked more serious then normal. He acknowledged her, but didn’t smile. “Welcome back Carmen Jewel.” He said, face unchanging. “Yesterday, I forgot some of the things that I was meant to teach you. We will be going a bit into Advanced Archery.” Carmen looked at where the targets were on the other side of the field. They were just plain, unmoving targets. It’s like day one all over again, She thought sadly. The Earl began to speak again, “You’ll be learning to fire arrows rapidly.” He held up his own bow, took an arrow quickly and hit two targets, with two arrows. “B-but how?” Carmen asked. Slowly the Earl showed her how to stand and how to quickly fire arrows.
The first time she tried, she got the arrow stuck in the bow. Then when she finally got it, she hit the Earl’s arrows down the middle, splitting them in two. Finally the Earl’s smile returned. “Great Job Carmen. I haven’t met many people who could split my arrows. I guess I won’t be seeing you tomorrow, but I had a great time teaching you,” He held out his hand, and Carmen took it gratefully. She smiled and her green eyes sparkled. She ran off the field yelling, “Thank you Lord! I won’t let you down!” Her hair blew out behind her as she ran towards the Barracks -262 words, A little over
