The gardens are open to the public and are a beautiful place to take a walk whatever the weather. The huge naturalistic gardens are unprecedented in their exclusive and elegant use of native Erivale plants and provide a dynamic yearlong succession of flowers, fruit, and foliage. The great lawn, the celestial garden, the sculpture garden, the hidden building, the lake and the courtyard are all separate parts of the whole garden and are all connected and flow from one space to another. The flowerbeds are overflowing with many different species of flowers which are a give off a sweet heady perfume as well as being a delight to look at.

Drakan had no idea where Scarlet could be. No one seemed to know. As he headed back to the stable, he noticed the entrance to the gardens, as he had nothing better to do he decided to have a walk round. Once he got into the gardens he was glad he had done so. The flowers there were beautiful, every colour under the sun could be seen in the flower beds, Drakan was sure.
He spotted a tree offering a little relief from the heat of the morning sun. He lay in the shade from the branches and closed his eyes. It was so peaceful here.

"Recruitment office, recruitment office..." Scarlet muttered under her breath, as if repeating those two words would help her find her way. She crossed over a small wooden bridge, only to be faced with more beautiful flowerbeds, brimming with flowers. The flowers had lost their charm in the first 10 minutes after being in the gardens, and although Scarlet kept trying to head in a stright line she appeared to have passed a hedge, trimmed to resemble an eagle, several times.
"Recruitment office?" she said eagerly, as she turned another corner, but there was only a very large tree there. She let her head hang back, so she was facing the sky.
"That is not the recruitment office, that is a TREE." she complained, then clamped her mouth shut as she looked at the tree properly. Drakan sat underneath the tree, and she hadn't planned what she was going to say to him. But now thanks to her loud ramblings, she had little chance of leaving unnoticed.

Drakan's deep thoughts were shattered by the loud complaints of someone. Sitting up he yelled "Im trying to think here!" Turning round, intent on yelling even more he realised that the voice belonged to Scarlet. "H-hi" he muttered quietly, looking down. He picked at the grass before standing up and walking closer to her. He was still embarrassed about his short rant and kept his gaze from meeting her's. Now that they were both here, Drakan was unsure how to handle the situation and just kept looking down.

"Drakan..." Scarlet began, "Look, I really don't want things to be awkward between us. I acted stupidly at the fountain, we were getting on really well, and I thought we could be good friends, but then I over-reacted. The only reason I left at the fountain was to save you any awkwardness, but now I realise I just made things worse. I'm sorry." she finished simply, then bit her lip, inwardly feeling quite pleased with herself on having said something half-decent off of the top of her head. Congratulations over though, she added:
"No hard feelings?" And just to prove her pint, she wrapped her arms around him in a short hug. She pulled away after a few seconds, not wanting him to feel awkward or but at the same time not wanting to make it seem ungenuine.
(OOC: Apologies for the nonexistant word 'ungenuine'. What is the negative for genuine?!)

Drakan didnt know how to reply to Scarlets apology. Before he could apologse himself, and explain how he thought it to be all his fault. Scarlet threw her arms around him in a short hug. Stunned by this reaction, Drakan sat there with the biggest grin anyone in Erivale had ever seen. When Scarlet stopped hugging, the grin didnt fade. Suddenly, it occurred to him that he must look a bit of a fool. Wiping the grin from his face as fast as he good, he now realised that he looked unhappy. NOt sure what face to make he looked at Scarlet and grinned sheepishly. Red faced he asked her if she wanted to go for a ride or a walk. He wanted to show her the sea.

"Of course," replied Scarlet, glad that the air had been cleared "I know, I've got to go apply for the army now, then book a room at the inn, but tomorrow, why don't we ride to Swyncrest? That way you can show me the sea..."
She leant back against the tree, feeling slightly dazed by the heady scents of all the flowers. then she remembered why she was wandering around the gardens.
"Oh, could you point me in the direction of the Recruitment office, I'm kinda lost..."

"Hey why dont i walk you there? i mean....i could wait outside? And i should probably book a room at the inn too. It's kinda lonely sleeping in straw in the stables" he laughed "Unless you want a stable too?" he laughed again and smiled at Scarlet. "What job are you after anyway?" he asked.

"What job?" Scarlet replied, puzzled "Oh, you mean which section of the army? Well, I'm going to apply for cavalry, which I'll do until page, then I'm going to apply to be a Dragon rider. I realized yesterday that thats what I want to do." she stood up, dusting down her clothes.
They began walking towards the recruitment offcice, Scarlet allowing Drakan to lead. They passed the eagle hedge, and then crossed the little bridge.
"I had some trouble deciding what to join first," she told Drakan, "But then I thought, in cavalry, I'll learn swordfighting and archery from horseback. so it'll probably prepare me best for any training I'd do as a Dragon rider. That is, if I'm good enough to be one!"
Now that Scarlet was not wandering aimlessly in the gardens, she had a chance to admire it's beauty. She could only imagine how much hard work it must be to keep the gardens looking like this all year round.

"It's pretty isnt it?" Drakan said referring to the gardens. "Anyway, I think you'll be a great dragon rider" he said smiling "if you ever want tips on your swordfighting you know where to come" he grinned and yelled at her to walk faster "Come on slowcoach!" he laughed and waited for her to catch up. "Which inn are you going to rent a room at?" he asked.

"The Fair Dragon Inn, I booked a room ealier." Scarlet replied as they drew to a halt outside the recruitment office. "And I think I may take up your offer, my swords skills are not the best...and now, I finally get to meet the Sovereign..." she took a deep breath and removed a ribbon from her pocket, tieing back her hair into a ponytail.
"I tell you what, I'll go and do this, then meet you at the stables. I need to pick up my stuff anyway, then we can go to the inn? Wish me luck!" she shrugged and smiled, crossed her fingers, then walked up to the recruitment office, giving Drakan a small wave goodbye.

"Good Luck!" Drakan called after her. H felt sure she'd be accepted. how could anyone say no to such a pretty face... There were those thoughts again. Kicking himself he left for the stables, intent on tidying up a bit before Scarlet came. Since he had been the stable master he hadnt spent alot of time in the stables really. He had been busy after all. He wandered out fo the gardens slowly admiring the beautiful flowers and plants that grew there. He wondered if Scarlet would like flowers, but then shook his head and quickened his pace out of the gardens.

Laielyn wandered into the gardens, her curious violet eyes taking in every leaf, twig and blade of grass as she did so. She had, in a long course of events, become seperated fromt Trysten, the only person she had really met properly in the town, and now she found herself, once again, alone.
She didn't mind being alone too much - except she found that she grew bored more quickly when she was as such - but she needed some time to reflect on matters anyway. She adored the hustle and bustle of the busy city, but she had seen many of the sights there were to see there now, and she longed to set off on a whole new adventure. She just had to decide whether it would be too dangerous - or boring - for ehr to attempt travelling in the wild on her own.
She sighed. She should probably at least finish her training in the Army first... But was was she supposed to do in the meantime?
Settling herself down on a soft grassy patch of the lawn, she flung her head back and let an exasperated cry escape from between her lips.

Matthew walked through the gardens, tending to each plant as he found fit. Steel was following slowly, inspecting everything closely. Being the gardener helped him forget about what happened with Liz. He clipped a rose from one of he bushes and held it up to his nose. It smelled sweet, like Liz. No, he thought to himself. You must forget. But he knew he never would forgive hiself. He leaned against a tall tree blossoming with flowers. Steel came and sat on his lap to comfort him. Everything in the garden kept reminding him of Liz, no matter how hard he tried to forget her. He let out a long sigh and stared into a small pond not to far off. He saw a frog swimming through it and zoned out, getting lost in his own thoughts, with his sliver dragon asleep on his lap.

Elizabeth walked into the gardens. She'd asked one of the other maids if Matt worked at the palace too and she'd said that he was the gardener. He always did like flowers. Liz thought. While she walked through the rows of flowers and trees that were blossoming, Liz knew that she had to apologize to Matt. She spotted him sleeping against a tree and she walked around to the other side of the pond. "Hello Matt," she said, waking her twin brother up.
