Sapphire walked past. She was soaking wet. She had her cape wrapped around her body. She was in a fast movement to get away. Her eyes weren't there normal color. They were a ruby red. Her blonde hair was brown and she was frantic. She didn't even notice Trysten. She broke into a walking jog and kept going. The rain changed her. It was dangerous to her. She walked into a huge hole in a tree and sat there.

Trysten watched as Nouhime and the man walked off in opposite directions. He was unsure as to what had occurred, but he was glad that it had ended. He allowed himself to relax slightly. He turned to see that Nelra was still standing close by. As he looked around he saw a girl run past. She looked familiar, but the rain obscured his vision and he didn't see her face properly. He watched her until she ran out of site, wondering why she was in such a hurry. He realised that not everyone enjoyed walking in the rain. He looked down and saw that his clothes were sodden wet, and he was starting to feel slightly cold, as the rain drenched his thin frame.
He turned back to face Nelra.
"I think it's about time we got out of the rain," he began, looking for a way off the beach. "I'm gunna head back into the town."

The rain slightly stopped. She walked out of the tree hole and walked back from the path she was in. Her brown hair was turning back to a light blonde. She whipped her cape off and began to wring in out. A few minutes later the rain stopped. She ran and turned a part of the ocean into ice. She slid down in and then slid to a stop. She stood about 100 feet from the shore. Her blonde hair whisping in the wind. She smiled as the sun began to show.

Nelra looked down at her own drenched clothes, and decided that Trysten's idea to head back to town was a very good one. She had, after all, promised her mare that they would find somewhere dry before she'd gone down to meet Trysten and Nouhime. Eclipse began tugging at the reins, dragging Nelra back the way she'd come some time earlier.
"Alright, alright. You don't have to be so impatient." she muttered to the mare as she swung herself into the saddle, and set off back towards Arinesse at a slow trot.

Carmen walked along the beach, seemingly alone. She had her sword at her side and her shoes in her bag. She was wiggling her toes through the sand. Then, out of the sea came a huge splash. Nexa emerged a huge dogfish in her mouth. She flew back to shore, where Carmen had started practicing some sword fighting Lady Alianna had shown her. You know, Nexa said, sitting beside Carmen eating her fish. If you put you right foot in front of you when you do that maneuver, you won't lose your balance as easily. Carmen took Nexa's advice and found that it was much easier. Any more expert advice I should know about before I try another move. Nexa made a sort of cackle which Carmen knew was her laugh. I guess not.
Carmen continued practicing when Nexa said. Sorry about getting so angry last night. She looked down at the sand, while Carmen sheathed her sword. I guess I was a little jealous of Draken. Carmen walk to Nexa and pulled a small fish bone from her jaw. It's alright. She looked into the dragon's deep brown eyes. It's my fault for spending to much time with him anyways. She saw a special sparkle in Nexa's eyes, and knew that she had mended the mistake she'd made.
Then Nexa went out looking for more fish, while Carmen sat in the sand wiggling her toes as the sun began to go down. I wonder why there's nobody on the beach. Then Nexa's reply came. It's because a strange dragon keeps popping out of the sea. Carmen laughed and watched the sun slowly begin to set.
The sun had nearly gone down, and Carmen found herself asleep on the sand. Next to her, Nexa was snoring and making a deep hole in the sand. The tide was coming in and Carmen felt a coldwind blowing from the north.
Wake up, She said to Nexa, as she stod up, brushing the sand off herself. Nexa awoke and streched her wings. We should return to the city before nightfall. Carmen nodded and looked out at the sun once more. Carmen jumped onto Nexa's back as the purple dragon began moving back to the village.
When we return to the city, Nexa said as they were walking. You can spend the rest of the night with Draken. I'll wait for you at home, then take you hunting tomorrow. Carmen smiled and felt like jumping for joy. Thanks Nexa! She practically screamed in her head. But, Nexa interuppted Carmen's happyness. You have to tell me all about it when you return! Carmen giggled at this as the road came into view.

Arkis' hooves dug deep into the wet sand as Drakan rode swiftly across the shoreline. His face was lit with happiness and he laughed as the wind rushed through his hair. "This is the sea!" he said, pulling sharply to a stop. He waited for Luthien to catch up and smiled at her. "I always think it looks beautiful when the sun shines". The sun was shining and brightly at that.
"Fancy a swim?" Drakan asked grinning and without waiting for an answer, he pulled off his shirt and kicked his shoes off on the sand. Then, with a run he dove straight into the cool, blue water. A few seconds later, a dark head appeared from the sea. "Come on scaredy cat!" he called.

n gave the water a reproachful look. She had never entered the water before, only to bathe. She gracefully slid off of her mare and tip toed to the edge of the sand. She felt her bare feet sink into the wet softness. She was giddy with excitement. She slowly, turned around and slipped off her over garment and revealed her soft pale blue silk under dress. Her eyes shined as she felt the cool water lap at her feet. Lúthien slowly turned and walked towards the beautiful water. It was more spectacular than she ever imagined. The waters were a liquid emerald and blue, mixing to create the perfect hue of bright sea green. She slid under the glassy surface, opening her eyes to the world around her. Her hair flowed around her head, looking a bright violet as she rose. Swimming came automatically, taking her to where her new friend floated. "Wow!" was all she could say. The feel of the water enveloping her in its soft silkiness thrilled her every being, taking her with it as if in a dream. Sairalindë whickered and lunged into the water, only to whinny in despair as her hooves left the ground, into the swirling blackness of the deep. Lúthien smiled and shooed Sairalindë out of the water. Lúthien started as something slimey brushed past her foot. She ducked under the water and saw a creature that was small and very areodynamic. it had brightly colored scales and what looked liked small peices of leather attached were arms or legs should have been. Small slits in the side of the head opened and closed rythmically, as if breathing. Lúthien opened her eyes in wonder. She poked her head slowly out. She had never seen this creature before, though she had heard of it. A fish. No fish dwelled in her homeland, for the only water was from a pure stream that only ran through their city by magic. Lúthien's eyes closed, trying to remember her old home:
((Yet another flashback. Sorry if this bores you, but you might want to know a little about her.)) Lúthien walked through the trees, their crowns dazzling emerald in the cool morning breeze. She shut her eyes, trying to imagine a life not here. Trying to imagine what it would be like. She couldn't. This place was too perfect. She walked through the city, bright lights of the shops tearing through the darkness. She found a bright white hall, decorated in everlasting vines and flowers. She ambled inside, taking in the warm scents of freshly cooked bread and sugary fruit being set out. A small elfchild(which was very rare) waltzled up to her, taking a bow. "Welcome. Lady Lúthien! We've been expecting you!" he grabbed her sleeve, playfully tugging her onward, towards the bright throne. The throne itself was a masterpeice, the golden filagry shining brightly and the soft red velvet shimmering in the cold lamplight. But what was perched on it was even more dazzling. An elf sat atop it, her gown a striking shade of green. A crown of silver and rubies lay upon her light moon-washed hair. The dress she wore was long and made of the finest silk, draping over her legs and down to the floor, fanning out in a sea of green. It was embriodered with silver and gold, making leaf and flower patterns across the bosom and skirt. Lace went in a vee from her waist to the rim of her chest, lining the flowery tracing it. Her sleevs were long and a large, silver and pale, almost white, green cape draped over her broad shoulders. The elf's keen blue eyes stared intently at Lúthien, holding her gaze. "Lúthien!" she cried, reaching out to hug her. "You've taken a while, did Glorfindel reach there in time?" her kind eyes held concern. Lúthien said nothing, but slid her hand out of her gown. The elf gasped, holding Lúthien's hand and examining her left ring-finger closely. Her wise face turned giddy with glee as she proclaimed, "Glorfindell and Lúthien are engaged!" she wrapped her amrs around Lúthien, her embrace a true one. "I am so happy for you, my son is getting married! And to a fine woman at that!" she whispered. Lúthien's face reddened slightly, her head bowing. "And I am honored to become your daughter, Lady Silmarwen.”

Drakan smothered laughter as he watched Luthien, almost scared of tiny little fish. He swam over and cupped his hands around the wriggling creature. Lifting it up he smiled and threw the fish and water at his friend. With a laugh he began to swim towards the shore and then began to run accross the beach.
Eventually he collapsed onto the sand. It was soft and warm beneath his wet form. Breathing heavily he lay back and sighed deeply. So far this day had been fantastic. But as he thought about how much fun he had had, his thoughts drifted to Carmen and he began to wonder where she was.

((flashback)) Lúthien perched herself on the top of the fence post, her deep eyes searching the land. Her eyes caught a shadowy figure riding towards her. Her heart leapt with joy, then plummeted to her feet as she recognized not her beloved, but a soldier garbed in clanking metal and a silver sword hanging loosley from his belt. He handed Lúthien a scroll, a sad, far off look in his eyes. Lúthien's hands trembled as she slidd the red ribbon off of the sandy parchment. The moon flowed through the sky as an ear peircing cry split through the eerie blackness of the night. Lúthien's eyes clouded with tears as she read on, her wail fading in the moonwashed land. It read:
To whom this may concern: The Elven Arms are so sorry to infrom you that General Glorfindel has died in battle. He died valiantly, taking a sword through the breast. His life will be remembered and cherished and eh will be honored as a hero. Again, our greatest apologies. ~Commander Fúlth
Lúthien's eyes slid into her eyelids, trying to remember what she last said to him. Her heart felt heavy with sadness. That was the day she had decided to leave her city forever.
Lúthien giggled and leapt out of the water after Drakan with inhuman speed. She tried to remember the last time a smile lik this had touched her lips, and wondered if it would ever happen again. Her body was soaked and her dress clung to her skin, her bare legs shivering against the breeze. She collapsed on the sand beside her new friend, glad for the sand's golden warmth that washed over her body. "Drakan?" she asked, her eyes meeting his. They seemed somewhere else, like he was pondering something. "I have something to ask. Have you ever lost someone so dear, you could not even think of anything else and feel nothing for more than years at a time?" Lúthien gazed the ring on her finger, trying hard not to ruin this happy moment in her life. Her mind still reeled in amazment at this land, but she wondered if anyone here shared her pain.

Drakan sat up, and his face formed into a much more serious expression. "No" he said softly. He didnt want to intrude on Luthiens thoughts and decided to ask no more. He first believed she was referring to parents or a family member but he noticed her fingers idly drifting to her ring finger. A beautiful ring lay upon her hand. Drakan realised that the person she must be referring to had been a fiance or husband. He knew that they werent married, but the thought of losing Carmen made him feel awful.

Luthien's face turned red. "Oh, nevermind then." she whispered. Her heart felt heavy, and she didn't want it too! She'd much rather spend this day having fun and exploring the land of Erivale. Her sodden body shivered as she realized a cloud covering the sun. Without further adue, she leapt back into the water, her hair furling around her face. She poked her head above the glassy surface. "Lets go for a REAl swim." she said, waiting to see if he would come at all. She had seen by his expression he was thinking of a loved one while she had remembered her life afore. She had seen that look many a time, but she still wanted him to join her for a spectacular idea forming in her head.

Drakan took a run and dived into the shimmering water, breaking the surface smoothly. When he re surfaced he grinned at Luthien and said "What do you class as a REAL swim?" His eyes were alight with excitement and anticipation as he brushed his dark hair from his face. As he let his feet touch the bottom of the sea, his face wrinked into a look of pain. "Ow!" he yelled and fell backwards into the water. He lifted his toe above the water to find the spine from some sort of sea creature stuck in deep. He plucked it out, and looked up at Luthien, expecting to see her laughing.

Luthien didn't laugh, but a wide smile spread across her face. She Laughed a bit, and then said. "Come with me." she took a great breath and dove undeet the water and swam. Down, down down she went, until she couldn't see the light from the sun anymore. Oceanlife whirled around her head, making her giddy with excitment. She gazed up, or at at least what she thought was up, and wondered if Drakan had followed.

Drakan followed just behind Luthiens heels. As she turned around he swam above her and began to lead. The anenomes around him were a swirl of colous and the fish scattered as the two elves swam through. Drakan finally resurfaced for air. "Wow!" He gasped. "Its so beautiful down there!" All around them was water. Not another piece of land was in sight. He smiled as he treaded water and wiped his hair from his face. He shook his head sending a spray of water droplets Around him.
