The beach is a long stretch of golden sand, the end of the beach closest to Swyncrest is usually busy, with families taking their children to play in the sea and visitors relaxing in the warm sand. The furthest end of the beach is more secluded and a beautiful place if you wish to take a romantic stroll (If you know what I mean )

It was one of the worst storms that the residents of Swyncrest had seen in years. Those who witnessed it would never forget the eerie way that the mass of dark and heavy clouds seemed to stretch towards land from far over the horizon just as the twilight rays of the sun vanished behind them. Soon after, a mighty wind picked up, causing the residents closest to the shore to fasten their windows as the owners of ships warily eyed their mooring place, making sure that the port was indeed protected from the wrath of the oncoming storm. The full fury of the storm hit the town just as the first of it's waves crashed into the jettys sending up huge sprays of water into the air, as is seeking to mimic the clouds above which now hurled water against the small town as if in anger. The storm subsided with the coming dawn, and the village residents, many of whom hadn't slept, ambled out of their homes, checked for damage, and then returned to their daily tasks, thankful that the true fury of the storm seemed to have been spent at sea. Along the beach, a hodgepodge of seaweed, driftwood, and other odds and ends lay scattered, washed up by the storm. Further down slightly from town in a less-traveled section of the beach lay a serious of shattered wooden husks. One such husk, a chunk broken from the stern of some mighty ship showed the letters "...ver Gull" protruding from the sands. Amidst these remains of planks and barrels, a single human figure lay sprawled on his back. Still breathing and seemingly without major injury, this young man still had not returned to consciousness. The waves lapped at his boots for many hours as seaguls nibbled at his hair. * * * Many hours later, Crythis's unconciousness had become a deep sleep, though was restless, laying there on the sands. As the sun began to set, he stretched in his sleep and rolled over, getting a mouth full of sand for his troubles. He coughed and sputtered, crawling to his knees, scaring a few of the gulls near him. With a start of surprise Crythis stood up and looked around him. He looked out over the stretch of beach, waves gently lapping the sand, and the last of the sandpipers returning to their nests. "Where... what... ugh..." He rubbed a large bruise on his head and brushed the sand from his body. "So, it seems that the... uh... ship that I guess I was on," he looked out over the broken remains of the ship strewn in the sand, "was destroyed in a storm, so here I am, washed up in a strange land, it sounds like the beginning of a great adventure... or a lame bard's tale." Crythis chuckled. "Well, those lights down the beach aways look promising, probably a town. I'm pretty hungry, I expect that's a good a place as any to get food and a nice place to rest, lets see what I've got on me." With that he rummaged through his pack. His weapons were still there, as was his money pouch. Unfortunately, on further inspection, his money pouch seemed to have only a few seashells, some sand, a chunk of wood, and a very angry hermit crab. Crythis shook out the pouch, and looked sadly at the pile it left. "Hmm... well, I doubt I can pay for a room using wood or seashells. But on the other hand..." Crythis thought for a second at and grabbed some junk from the wreckage. After fiddling for a few minutes, he got back to his feet and strolled off towards the lights of town, humming a tune.

The sky was darkening by the time Trysten wandered onto the beach. It looked like it would rain soon, but he wasn't too phased by this. He was used to the rain. He carried on walking down the stretch of the beach until he reached some large rocks. Climbing up onto one, he sat down, holding his knees.
His dark eyes scanned the horizon and stared out to sea. To someone watching it may have seemed like he was looking for something, but he was just passing the time. He was thinking about his past and the events that had brought him to Erivale. As much as he liked Arinesse and the people that he had met, he couldn't help feeling slightly alone. He missed having a close friend. He looked to the left and saw that it was raining further out to sea. It would probably reach him soon, but he didn't really mind.

Nelra and her horse galloped onto the beach, her horses hooves throwing up clumps of sand as they went. She headed towards the water, pulling up a couple feet from the water's edge. She slid from the saddle and walked the rest of the way to the water. She stopped when the toes of her boots touched the water. "It's so big..." she whispered, so only her horse could hear.
She pulled off her boots and rolled her pants up to her knees. She tucked her boots into the stirrups of her saddle, making sure they wouldn't fall out if Eclipse moved. "Now, you stay here, I'll be back soon." She strode into the water, wincing slightly at the cold water. She walked along the shoreline, her feet immersed in the water.

The beach, Nouhime always preferred to visit the beach at nightfall rather than during the day. Looking out into the sea she noticed the rain racing toward the shore at which she stood afoot at; she smiled, it's been awhile since she walked in the rain. She began to walk down the edge of where the golden sand began, bending over every once in a while to collect sand within the palm of her right and watch it slip away from the tiny gaps between her fingers.
She looked out to the sea once more, seeing the rain move closer and closer to the land, no sooner later did the rain start to fall upon her head. At first she jumped slightly at it's touch against her skin, though it didn't take long for her to adapt to the feeling. The sand in her hand began to melt away as the water slapped against it, splashing tiny droplets of muddy water on her face. She dropped the sand altogether and brought the backside of her hand up to her face, wiping the mud away. As she did she noticed a man sitting on some near by rocks, she smiled and began toward them.
"You're going to get wet if you stay out any longer," she spoke to the man as a way of saying 'hello'.

Trysten's head turned faster than he thought possible. He hadn't even heard someone approaching, which unnerved him a little. He was normally the one sneaking up on people, not the other way around.
Strangely, the person who had approached him was not someone he had seen around Erivale before. She seemed to be human, not an elf, which Trysten was also slightly surprised about, as the majority of people he had met so far had been elves. He coughed slightly.
"I'm used to the rain," he said, as he jumped off the rock to approach the girl. "What about you, not worried about getting wet?"

She had always adored the rain, it was the smell that drew her closer to it. Whenever it would rain she would be the only one outside, enjoying every moment of it. A soft smile graced her lips and she looked up to sky with her eyes shut, "I adore the rain," she gave a low chuckle showing that she was no where near worried about getting wet, "Actually, it's been awhile since I've been in rain." Nouhime brought her head back down and gave the man another soft smile, barely creasing the corners of her lips. "I'm Nouhime," she introduced herself and placed her hands behind her back.

Trysten watched as she looked up to the sky and smiled slightly. He didn't know many people who enjoyed being out in the rain like he did. He studied her face and noticed the way her eyes seemed to almost match the pale bluish-grey colour of her eyes. He looked away as he didn't want to appear like he was staring.
"I'm Trysten," he said, after she had introduced herself. He gave his usual half smile, as a drop of rain landed on a strand of hair that had fallen in front of his face and dripped off.
"So, what brings you to the beach on a miserable day like today?" he asked. I could ask myself the same thing, he thought, realising that he had also chosen to sit on the beach when it was almost certain to rain.

"I wouldn't say this day is miserable," Nouhime admitted with a smirk, "besides I had only came for walk. In my point of view, the only time a day is worth being called a day. . . is when it's raining."
She kept her eyes on him, her smirk only grew as she watched him look away, "You know, I could ask you the same question, only . . . In my words, I would rather say beautiful," she walked passed him and closer to the beach's water. She bent her knees and dipped her finger tips into the water, risking the tip of her shoes to get wet. She stared out into the water and smiled as she felt the rain grow stronger.

Trysten watched her walk towards the water, almost transfixed. She'd smirked at him when he'd said the day was miserable, and reminded him why he often had a problem talking to strangers. He felt his normally shy personality creeping back towards the surface, and his new found confidence retiring slightly. He swallowed, well aware that the rain was drenching his hair and would soon do the same to his clothes.
"I apologise," he began, unsure if he had done something that warranted an apology. "I said 'miserable' as I guess that's how I was feeling. I was just passing the time out here, really."
He watched her dip her fingers into the water. She had her back turned to him and he was glad she couldn't see the slight wave of confusion that had passed over his face a few seconds ago.

Nouhime began to twirl her finger in the water, making designs and watched silently as the raindrops fell into the water. As he apologized she stopped the movement in her hand and spoke softly, “you need not to apologize, you have done nothing wrong,” she reassured him, turning her head to the side and rested her chin on her shoulder letting him know that she was listening. Though, shortly after she turned her attention back to the water, “To feel miserable on such a wonderful day, may I ask why?” she found it hard to believe that anyone could feel miserable when it would rain. If she ever did the feeling will wash away as the rain would beat down on her down; the feeling of miserable never lasted long with her.

Trysten watched as she made patterns in the water, and thought about his reply. He knew that he had gone out to the beach, knowing that it would probably rain soon. He felt slightly odd about telling the stranger before him about what he was feeling, but he didn't think saying that he didn't want to tell her would make him feel any less odd.
"I have not been in Erivale for long, and I guess I was just feeling slightly alone..." he trailed off. Admitting that to someone he knew would have been hard enough, but when it was someone he had just met it seemed a lot harder. He thought about it, and decided that the reason for it was that he didn't want to appear weak to a stranger. He smirked at himself, and lowered his eyes to the ground as he realised this.

Nelra stared down the beach as the rain drummed lightly on her head. She thought she saw two people farther down the beach but couldn't really tell for the distance and through the rain. She whistled her mare over, and disentangled her boots from the stirrups before pulling them on. Her horse looked at her sullenly, as if asking if they could get out of the rain soon.
"Just a little longer girl, I want to see who those people are, then we'll get out of the rain." she whispered to her horse, setting off down the beach, the mare following, though not happily. She stopped a few feet from the two and cleared her throat softly before speaking. "Hello..."

This time, Trysten had heard the sound of someone approaching, and turned to see an elf stop a little way away. He noticed her horse, and realised that he'd noticed her further along the beach when he'd been sitting on the rock before. She didn't seem to be as comfortable in the rain as he was. He turned fully to face her.
"Hey," he said, wondering if Nouhime had noticed the new arrival. He hesitated slightly, before deciding that he should introduce himself. "I'm Trysten," he told her, offering his hand. His dark hair was now drenched, and he imagined that he looked rather stupid with it hanging in front of his eyes in wet strands.
