The Cliff Tops are the perfect place to get a view of the beach below, or in the evening you can watch the sunset out to sea. The cliffs stand at quite a height above the beach, so care needs to be taken when walking close to the edge. When the tide is in it completely covers the beach below, and as there are no rocks on the beach, sometimes the more daring, younger residents of Erivale can be seen jumping from the cliffs into the sea.

Scarlet walked across the cliff tops following the winding trail, Drakan close behind her. The wind was strong up here and whipped her hair across her face. Not that she noticed, the sea was too mesmorizing. Even though it was churning in the rain, Scarlet still found The swirling turquoise mass beautiful and the effect on her was almost hypnotic. She stood motionless watching a small ship in the distance ride up and down with the frothy waves, the sails billowing in the strong winds that followed the coast. At the same time, she felt afraid of the sea. It was so vast, and she watched the futile efforts of the ship tossing and turning in the waves, struggling to stay upright. The sea was one thing that humans could never conquer. The rain had soaked both her hair and her clothes now and it was that which pulled her away from her musings. It was falling so heavily now, she could barely make out if Drakan was was standing near her or not as the entire landscape seemed blurred. She squinted her eyes to shield them from the rain, and raindrops fell from the tips of her eyelashes. "Drakan?" she called, raising her voice so it could be heard over the wind and rain. * * * Noises from the beach caught Scarlet's attention, she was high up and the words were muffled by the wind so she was unsure of what was being said. She could make out four people and two horses stood below in the dark sand. Trysten, whom she had met before, Nelra- who she had only breifly encountered and two people she had never seen before. Can you hear what's going on? she asked Meral; his eyesight and hearing was much more sensitive than hers. Yes. he replied, there seems to be some confrontationAnything serious? she asked, glancing back down and narrowing her eyes at the two strangers Perhaps, but it is of no concern to us. came the reply. Scarlet reluctantly agreed, she had wanted to go down to the beach but she didn't want to get involved in whatever was happening down there.

Drakan's eyes were blurred by the rain and the view looked like a smudged oil painting. "Drakan?" Scarlet called. Reaching out to his left he found Scarlets hand and moved closer to her. "I'm here" he replied, smiling to himself despit the miserable weather. As he gazed out, he could barely see beyond the edge of the cliff. The wind was whipping the rain into his eyes and he had to shut them tightly to avoid being temporarily blinded. "I was hoping that this was going to be an amzing experience" He sighed "But the rain has put a bit of a downer on that..."
Realising he still had hold of her hand, Drakan pulled away sharply. For the first time he was thankful for the heavy drops that were falling fast around him. He was sodden but didnt want the rain to spoil anything else. Taking a few steps towards the edge he flung his arms out and let out a yell. Grinning he turned to Scarlet "Try it, it makes you feel great!" Once again he released a cry that he was sure those on the beach could hear.

Scarlet copied Drakan, self-consciously spreading her arms wide and yelling out to sea. Her voice was lost in the wind. She spun back around to face Drakan, "I'm freezing Drakan, I'm gunna head back!" From the blank look on his face, he hadn't heard her. She pulled him closer and yelled the same thing into his ear, this time he must have heard her. The wind had picked up, and as she walked away from the cliff edge, she could feel the wind pushing her along. her hair streamed forwards into her eyes and she could hardly see where she was walking. "COME ON!" she called back to Drakan over her shoulder, "I WANT TO GET BACK TO ARINESSE FOR A CHANGE OF CLOTHES!" (apologies for the rubbishness that is this post. I'm tired and trying to write a biology essay at the same time. Really NOT at my most creative )

Drakan turned and watched Scarlet as she began to edge away. "I, I think i might stay here for a bit" he replied smiling half heartedly. He was disappointed that Scarlet was leaving, but he didnt want to do so. Something about the rough sea and the heavy rain captured his thoughts and he wanted to sit and watch for a while longer. He watched Scarley walk further away until he couldnt see her through the rain. Turning back, Drakan watched as the tiny figures down on the sand dissapparated. Leaving Drakan with only the sea in his ears. He was soaked through but he felt relaxed and at ease. After a time which seemed like much longer than it was in reality, Drakan walked back into the village. The rain had eased off and was just drizzling down now. ***** Drakan pulled sharply on Arkis' reigns and stopped at a small clump of trees, a way from the edge. Sapphire had been close behind him. He dismounted and walked to the edge. He loved it here and this time it wasnt raining. He looked out and watched the tide break on the shore. He thought he heard hooves behind hi and he turned round, hoping it was Sapphire.

Sapphire pulled gently on the stallion's reins. She hopped off his back and let him go. She sighted and walked up beside Drakan. She smiled when the mist of the seas brushed her face. She looked over at Drakan. "Do you believe in hope?" she asked him.

"Hope?" Drakan repeated slightly puzzled. "Yes. I mean I often hope im going to bump into certain people" He grinned and asked Sapphire why she had asked.
The wind had picked up and he could feel the spray from the sea spatter against his face every now and again. It was a hot day and the feeling was refreshing. Drakan yawned, he had been busy for the last few days and was almost completely worn out. He sat down on a flat rock a way from the edge and rubbed hs forehead. "So do you believe in hope then?" He asked his friend.

"Yes. I belive in hope." she said and let her toes rest on the edge of the cliff. She blinked. "I do belive in hope." she said quietly. The wind shifted her body gently. She looked back at Drakan who was laying down on a rock. She took a step back. She turned and walked over to Gladiator and pet his huge white neck.

Drakan had closed his eyes, to avoid being blinded by the sun. "It's nice up here isn't it?" He called to Sapphire. He knew she was somewhere nearby, but couldnt tell where. He sat up and was confused, Sapphire was nowhere in sight. Drakan turned round and saw that she was behind him, petting her horse.
"I think its time i headed off" Drakan stretched his arms out and stod up. "See you later!" He hopped on Arkis and set off.

She ran after him. Her legs were strong so she could catch up easily. She sort of turned her head to the side. "Where are you going?" she asked. She had nothing else to do. So. She had became a trainee swordsman. She could go to the ball. Maybe Trysten and Drakan would be there later? Hmmmm.

"Im going home" he called over his shoulder. "Maybe I'll catch you later!" he turned and pulled harder on his horses reigns.
The wind was rushing through his hair and he was enjoying the ride. He loved riding through erivale. There was so much to look at. The temple ruins, the palace and from up on the cliffs even the lake could be seen. Drakan thought he could see Carmens head, and decided to take a detour back to his home.

Liz had taken a huge hike up to the cliff tops. She stood on top and stared out at the sea. The wind blew through her hair and she saw The sun setting along the horizon. A tear fell down her cheek and Liz quickly wiped it away. She couldn't live without him. She'd never realized how hard her life could possibly be without her brother. She wondered if he thought about her as much as she cared about him. She didn't know if anyone cared that much about their family as much as her and her brother cared for one another.
Then a thought hit Liz. Why am I so Dependant on Matt to take care of me? She thought, the sun setting before her. I can care for myself and he worries to much. I can survive without him. She'd found new confidence. I will survive without him. I will not go back to him unless he comes to me begging for forgiveness.
Feeling confident, Liz looked off the edge of the cliff and decided she would jump off. She quickly took off nearly all her clothes, but her under dress. Then she ran over the edge of the cliff and swiftly dove into the water.
The cool sea water hit her face and refreshed her. Liz quickly swam away from the cliff so that she wouldn't get hit against the rock. She waded in the ocean clearing her mind. Then she swam to the beach and climbed out of the water, in her dress. She then used magic to summon her clothes. She dried off and climbed back up and sat down to watch the sun go down.
