Jessai started to cry more when Finn poked her in the ear and although she could tell that Finn was feeling awkward with the situation, she couldnt help but cry. To save poor Finn more embarrassment, she muttered a quiet apology and goodbye and sprinted off ahead, through the gates and towards the palace.

As Jessai ran off Finn opened his mouth to call her back, then decided against it. he had already made a complete stranger cry and run away from him.
"Nice one Finn" he muttered under his breath. Living on a farm with his brother, brother's wife, sister and various farmhands hadn't done much for his social skills. Here goes he thought to himself, as two guards opened the huge gates for him and his horse.
His first impressions of the city are something that will stay with him for ever, permanently frozen in his memory. The castle in the distance, almost glowing as the sun began to set behind it. The roads, buildings and houses. Smoke from chimneys- and the sounds. Clattering of hooves and wagons, the general buzz of chatter, shouts from sellers and small children. What he saw beggered beleif. I'm gunna have some stories to tell when I get home! he thought to himself. Then, holding his horse's reins tightly, almost to reassure himself, he walked into Arinesse, the gates grating closing behind him.

Dade paced onwards along the road. Inside he was still fuming from an encounter he had had at a tavern in the previous village he had visited. How someone could have the nerve to associate him with the Shadowlands, he didn't know. After everything that had happened he had started to become what he hated most. It made him feel sick inside, like he'd betrayed himself. And her.
He swallowed, trying not to think about it anymore. He looked down the road and saw the walls of Arinesse begin to appear on the horizon. He didn't know how long he would stay in Arinesse, but he decided he would see how things played out.
Dade stopped walking, and pulled his bag tighter on his shoulder. The wind ruffled his hair slightly, and he pushed the red strands away from his eyes. He took a sharp intake of breath and began to sprint towards the gates, leaving a trail of dust behind him.
