Dragon Riders
If you wish to become a Dragon Rider, the only way to do it is through the Erivale army. You must become a page in one section of the army, and then told you may apply to join a Higher Division by your current section Commander. Once you have been accepted into the Dragon Rider Divison you are eligible to apply for a Dragon egg. You will be offered three different coloured eggs, of which you may choose one. (You are allowed to decide everything else about your dragon ie. gender, name, temperament). You then post from scratch at as a Dragon Rider in the training grounds.
Your dragon hatchling will take time to grow into a fully grown dragon (This change can occur during your training sessions). With your Dragon you are able to fly on its back, have the ability to use magic and share a special mental link in the way you speak with each other, a dragon is not just a beast as many make the mistake of thinking. They are as intelligent as any human.
(If anyone has read the book 'Eragon', then they will understand the links between Rider and Dragon. If you have not, and wish to know more about Dragon Riders, please PM The Sovereign)
Dragons are special rare creatures with scales glittering like gems. They can be any colour. No-one knows for certain all the skills dragons actually have, but probably their most famous skill is their ability to breathe fire (which they only gain when they are a certain size). Dragons and their riders live for many years.
Wild Dragons
Wild dragons can be found on Stoneburn island, where they live peacefully. These wild dragons formed a pact with The Sovereigns great great great grandfather when he came to power. He gave them Stoneburn island in exchange for five dragon eggs. This is how The Sovereign is able to offer 'Dragon Riders' as a section of the army. If anyone ventures onto Stoneburn island, they must beware, the wild dragons guard the island viciously and are likely to attack first, ask questions later.
