The River Arin runs through the Palace Grounds, and is often an idyllic place to take a walk. The river itself is fairly wide, but flows quite slowly. Trees line the bank of the river in most places, and some way along it there is a bridge.

Trysten had been wandering round the palace grounds for most of the afternoon, when he reached the river. He stopped by a tree and lent against it, watching the water. He knew that soon he would have to do his final training session to become an Elite Spy and it was playing on his mind. He stood up straight and decided that he needed to put some extra physical training in before he did anything else.
He began to jog along the river bank, jumping over any obstacles that he reached along the way. He was jogging fairly slowly for a while but then broke out into a sprint. Trysten enjoyed running, it always let him forget about whatever he was worrying about. He carried on sprinting for another minute and then dropped back into a jog. Eventually he reached the bridge and stopped, breathing heavier than normal.
He stepped up onto the small bridge and stopped in the middle. He sat down and put his legs through the bars so they were hanging over the side. He was surprised at how far he'd managed to sprint, and decided that it was due to the amount of training he had been doing.

Sapphire stood behind the tree watching to boy. The wind played with her blonde hair. Her sapphire eyes glistened lightly. She smiled. She walked out from behind the tree holding on to the sapphire dress. She walked up beside the sitting boy. She looked down seeing all black hair.
Hello.
She said. Her voice was chilling in a good way. It was beautiful sending chills through any man. She smiled.

Trysten had heard someone approaching but hadn't turned around as he hadn't expected them to greet him. He looked up to see a girl with beautiful blue eyes staring down at him. There was something about the way she spoke that caught his attention immediately.
He coughed slightly, realising he hadn't said anything back.
"Um... hello," he said, unsure of what to say next. He sat there looking at her for a moment longer, and then realised that he was still sitting on the bridge. He stood up and lent against the side of the bridge slightly. He was a bit taller than the girl, but then again he was taller than a lot of people.

She smiled. Her sapphire eyes meeting his when he stood fully. She adjusted herself so she was comfortable to look at him.
My name is Sapphire.
She said introducing herself. She blinked. She turned to where her stomach was touching the rail. She looked at the ducks lead there babys around.

Just like her eyes Trysten thought to himself, after hearing the girl introduce herself as Sapphire. He watched her for a second or two more before he thought about introducing himself too.
"My name's Trysten," he said. He'd met quite a few new people since he'd been in Erivale, but he still found it difficult thinking of things to say when he'd only just met someone. "I don't think I've seen you around here before..."
He trailed off, hoping that Sapphire would take it as a question. So far he hadn't met someone as shy as him and he wondered if Sapphire was shy or outgoing.

She smiled. "Nice to meet you sir Trysten." she said. She laughed lightly. "I just got here. I haven't been here long." she sat down and wrapped her legs under her.

Trysten was slightly taken aback at being called "sir" by Sapphire. He didn't think anyone had ever called him sir before. He stood beside Sapphire and watched the water slowly flowing along the river. The Palace Grounds were one of the most beautiful places Trysten had seen since being in Erivale, and as the sun shon through the trees he smiled slightly to himself.
"Are you new to Erivale or just Arinesse?" he asked Sapphire, wondering if she was from Faydell or Swyncrest, or somewhere completely out of Erivale like he was.
He lent on the side of the bridge and looked down at her.

She looked up at him. "I am not from any of these places. I was born in Faydell." she said with a smile. She jumped off the bridge and just before she hit the water she turned it into ice. She stood there and waited for him. If he was coming.

Trysten watched in slight shock as Sapphire jumped from the bridge. He thought she was going to plunge straight into the water, but instead she remained standing. He looked down in confusion. The area of the river on which she stood had turned to ice beneath her. He hung his legs over the side tentatively, and debated whether or not to jump down.
"Is it safe for me too?" he asked. She didn't reply, but he could tell by the way she was looking at him that she was waiting for him to jump down. He lowered himself down and jumped onto the ice.
He slid around slightly trying to keep his balance, but ended up grabbing Sapphire's hands as he tried to stay upright.

She smiled at him and slightly giggled. She blushed lightly when he grabbed her hand. She helped him stand upright and began walking. She stayed on her toes. It helped keep her balance. "Stand on you toes. It helps." she said to him. She kept walking. "So where do you come from?" she asked him.

Trysten was slightly embarrassed that he had grabbed onto Sapphire, but he knew that he would have been even more embarrassed if he had fallen over. He managed to get his balance and slid around the ice.
"I came from a small place just outside of Erivale," he explained. "I came here to join the army, but I've found that there's more to Arinesse than just training."
He watched as Sapphire continued to walk and followed her carefully. He knew that if he wasn't careful he would end up flat on his face, and he didn't think that it would be very impressive.

She giggled. She began to sing a little and danced around. She twirled and jumped. She landed with ease on the slick ice. She looked at him and smiled. "I came here for a better life." she said. He was handsome. Very handsome.

Trysten wondered what she meant by a better life, but his train of thought was interupted when Sapphire began to spin around on the ice. He watched her in fascination. She moved with such grace and ease that she seemed as though she were a part of the ice itself. Trysten opened his mouth to say something, but couldn't think of what to say. He swallowed and closed his mouth. Shaking his head slightly, he looked down at his feet and then back up again.
"Do you know anyone in Arinesse?" he asked, trying to stand still without slipping over.
He knew that he must have looked slightly daft, but moving around seemed like a worse idea.

"No. I'm not sure I don't." she said. She looked at a mother deer and her baby. She smiled and began walking again.
OOC: Sorry. No muse!
