A prettyish wilderness at the back of the palace grounds. The place is wild and inhabitated with various Erivalean plants and many small creatures. There are two small footpaths that offer scenic walks, but many choose to take their own route.

Sapphire walked down the small foot trail. She had a lot of thoughts on her mind. Trysten, the war, Gladiator, becoming a dragon rider, and her family. She said and sat down the the colored leaves. She was wearing her usual black cloak with her sword but underneath the cloak was something unusual. A cream belly shirt with a brown vest that was also to her belly. Brown pants and boots. She thought of her mother's words before she left. Sapphire. You are going there so you can come home with money. You are also a young lady. Nothing to do with fighting. I don't need you arrested again. Another thing. Love isn't important. That is out of the question. Now go on. Hurry. You'll be gone for a while I hope. Make a lot of money! Then come home. Sapphire grew angry at the words. She drew her sword and threw it at a tree. She screamed. This was her life! She could love! She could be in the war! Flames grew around her. Licking trees and wet leaves. Luckily. There were only two things to calm her down. Gladiator and Trysten.

Matthew walked through the woodlands. He was thinking about Liz, but was also trying to forget her. He pulled his sword from it's sheath. He saw a small tree and decided to practice his swordplay. Firstly he began slicing off the branches as they moved through the wind. Then he took the top off in one blow, pretending it was somebody's head. Then he pulled back and looked at the bare tree. He smiled to himself, feeling better. Then he walked through the woods some more.
When he came upon Sapphire, he had forgotten Liz. He watched her anger grow and decided it was best not to go to close. He leaned against a tree and watched her anger, sadly remembering Liz's wrath.

Drakan stood at the beginning of the path into the woodland. It was cold and he had his hood up, hiding most of his face. He hoped Scarlet would show. He needed to make peace with her. Thinking, he could barely remember what it was that had caused the rift between them, but then he was reminded of the terrible accident in the alley. He felt guilty, because he knew it was mostly his fault, and that was why he was here. To apologise.
He shuffled his feet. He was almost positive that it was 11 now. The time he had asked Scarlet to meet him. But then, perhaps she wasnt going to come, afterall she was angry with him, and it didnt take a genius to work out who had sent the message. He leant against a tree and pulled his cloak a little closer around his arms, watching the path from the palace. There. A figure

Scarlet wrapped her cloak tightly around her as she approached the woodland. There was a cold wind blowing and her cheeks were flushed a bright pink.
"Drakan..." she acknowledged as she reached him where he was leaning back against a tree. She had guessed it would be him but hadn't prepared quite what she was going to say. they hadn't spoken for a long time, and to be honest, she had forgotten her anger towards him. Thinking back to the night- she had been hysterical when she shouted at him (which reminded her she had to find Matt and thank him properly for what he did)
She stood there, the wind flicking starnds of hair across her face, and bit her lip. An awkward silence followed.
"Well, I'm here."

Drakan looked up as Scarlet spoke. So she had come after all. Part of him was pleased, but mostly he was surprised. He stopped leaning on the tree and moved slightly towards Scarlet. The awkwardness between them was obvious, neither spoke a word for a time. Eventually Drakan pulled down his hood and looked at Scarlet. "Im sorry-" he started. "I know i shouldnthave- I was just worried." He trailed off and sighed. He didnt know what else to say to her. He could barely remember the details of what happened.
"I miss you" he added "You were probably the best friend ive ever had" He looked down and shuffled his feet awkwardly. "Im just sorry." He pulled up his hood once again and set off back towards the palace, he couldnt take Scarlets silence.

"No! Wait Drakan." she started after him, and pulled his arm so that he turned to face her.
"Look, I'm sorry. Not for what I said on the night, you acted far too rashly when you punched Matt and quite frankly you deserved to be yelled at. But I'm sorry for not coming to find you afterwards to apologise. I was hysterical at the time and, well, I wasn't really thinking straight. Meral's helped me to realise that I should be thanking you. You thought he was attacking me and came straight over to help, so I'm sorry- for leaving it so long to apologise, and for ignoring you..."
She gave him a smile, pushing her hair out of her face- held out her other hand.
"Friends?"

Drakan smiled. He had thought he had ruined everything, but here he was being given a second chance. He placed his hand firmly in Scarlets "Friends" he replied with a grin. "So what have you been doing with yourself and hows that...Dragon of yours?" Drakan and Meral had never gotten along and he was surprised that she had helped to convince Scarlet to speak to him again. "Did you enjoy the ball?"
