Rosemoor Park is situated in the centre of Arinesse, near to The Marble Temple. It is the perfect place to walk on a hot day, as the many tall trees provide plenty of shade.

Trysten headed towards the park, and walked out of the City Square and along one of the paths. As he did he heard shouts from behind him, and splashes. He guessed that one of the Elves that he had seen must have fallen into the fountain. He smiled to himself as he looked around the park. The sun was beating down above him, but the trees shaded his eyes. He walked a little further down the path and decided to stop beneath one of the larger trees on a grassy area. Laying his bag on the ground, he sat down and leaned his back against the tree. There was a nice cool breeze that blew his hair across his face, and he smiled and closed his eyes. He hadn't felt so relaxed in a long time. As the wind rustled the leaves on the trees he gradually fell asleep...

Laielyn wandered back from the stables through the park, her hair waving gently in the evening breeze. The sun was just beginning to set, and as she gave a wide yawn, she socwled ferociously. As the sun sank lower in the sky, so it became more important for her to find somewhere to stay for the night. She shrugged her shoulders, trying to shake off the sleepy feeling that was gradually engulfing her. She had slet outside before...
As if to try and persuade her that this was the sensible thing to do, she suddenly caught sight of a man asleep beneath the trees. She giggled to herself, a thousand mischievous pranks crowding into her head as once... She shook her head. Tempted as she was, it would be a bad idea for her to entertain herself at someone else's expense. She moved closer, curious to see who else would willingly sleep outside. She raised an eyebrow; it was the stranger from earlier.
Slumping down next to a tree nearby, she wondered what he was doing outside. Still, if he was willing to risk the cold of the night, then so was she, she resolved determinedly. Now she was settled, she found herself very much awake. Gazing up at the stars and wrapping her cloack tightly around her, she hoped it wouldn't grow too cold...

Trysten awoke with a start. He hadn't meant to fall asleep and now that he was awake he realised that the sun wasn't shining so much anymore. In fact, it was now quite cold. Something else wasn't the same either. Trysten looked up quickly, as he recognised the familiar feeling of not being alone. A little way away from him he noticed someone leaning against a tree, staring at the sky. As she turned slightly he realised that he had seen her briefly when he had been in the City Square before. Now that the sun had set it was quite cold outside, and he had intended to find a place to stay before it got dark. It seemed a little too late now. He turned to look at the girl again and debated whether to go over to her. On the one hand he had yet to meet anyone in Erivale, and making an acquaintance would probably be a good idea. But on the other hand it was dark and they were alone in a park; if he went over to her she might think he was going to attack her or something. He decided to take a chance and hope that she had already spotted him. He stood up and walked over to her, trying to make as much noise as possible, so she wouldn't think that he was sneaking up on her. He stopped a short distance away from where she sat. "Um... hello..."

Laielyn's eyes flicked to one side, her brain slowly registering that someone was talking to her. Recognising him as the man she had seen standing at the fountina earlier, she relaxed a little. "Hey there stranger." She grinned, producing a hand from within her cloak and holding it out to the dark-haired man before her. "Pleased to meet you."
For the first time, she was really able to look at him properly. The usually unobservant elf looked him up and down, trying to assess whether he really was friendly. He was tall, and fairly slender, and dressed all in black. That last part didn't sound too promising... But there was a slight warmth about him that she liked. She decided - in her usual somewhat reckless manner - that he was to be trusted.
A shooting star passed overhead, and she tilted her head to one side, looking at him curiously. Although she was beginning to feel tired, she was determined to find out more about this stranger. Her passing whims had had effects on her before, she was certain they would continue to do so in the future, and she hoped they would do so now. "So what brings you to the city?" She asked.

Trysten was glad that he hadn't alarmed the elf by approaching her, and he shook her hand lightly. He sat down a little way away from her as he thought about an answer for her question. "Well I came here mainly to join the army," he began, as he tried to think of the other reasons he had for leaving his home. The ones he could think of he didn't feel like discussing with someone he had just met, so he stuck with his original reason.
He looked at the elf as they sat in the moonlight. She seemed small, but he guessed that she was around the same age as him. He was pleased that she seemed to be happy to talk to him, he didn't know what he would have done if she had reacted badly to him approaching her.
"What about you?" he asked her, and then realising that neither of them knew each others' names he quickly added "I'm Trysten, by the way."

"Well then hey Trysten." She nodded, shaking his hand. "I'm Laielyn." She sat up a little straighter, shrugging her cloak off a little and turning to face him. She listened to him talk about joining the army, and then perked up her ears as he wavered and stopped. Well, she could hardly blame him for not enlightnening her with his entire life story.
"So you're a fighter then?" She asked, and then after a pause adding. "I was considering joining the Army, just to train up my magic... But I'm not sure... You think it would be a good idea?"
A warm breeze gently ruffled her hair, and she irritably pushed it back out of her eyes and into a hasty ponytail. "One day I will cut the damn lot off..." She muttered darkly. Sighing, she looked up and smiled, the temporary rift in her good mood already forgotton.

Trysten smiled as Laielyn muttered something about her hair. He was glad to be talking to her, he hadn't spoken to anyone properly since he had left his home. He thought about her question about joining the army, and nodded slowly. "I think that if you want to learn more magic then it could be a good idea. But you could always train yourself..." he looked up at her as he trailed off. "I guess I'm a bit of a fighter. But I've always wanted to join the Spies Division. It's one of my main strengths, I think," he said. He realised that it had got quite late, but he didn't really mind. He was enjoying making a new friend and it was certainly cheaper than having to find an inn somewhere. "What sort of magic do you use?" he asked.

Meredith was wandering around the city, not paying attention to where she was going, a bad thing to do. She realized that she was lost in the city and needed to find her way back to the inn. Walking into the park, she decided to ask someone for directions. She found two people, a man and an elf, talking by a tree, and strolled over.
Minding her manners, she inquired, "Excuse me, sir and miss. I'm lost in the city." She grinned, dropping her polite talk. "And on the first day, too! How will I ever manage to live the rest of my life in this crowded place? Anyways, I'm looking for the inn."

Trysten looked up at the young woman who had just approached them. She asked for directions in a well spoken way, and Trysten noted that there was something very pure about her. While he looked at her, trying to figure her out he realised that she was awaiting a response. He coughed slightly.
"Ah, well, actually I'm new here too, so I don't think I will be much help at all. But I do know that the City Square is in that direction," he said, in his quiet way, pointing in the direction that he had come from when he had entered the park that afternoon. He thought briefly about the dangers of walking in an unknown place at night time. "I'm sure if you get to the square there will be someone who would tell you the right direction."
He looked up at her from where he sat on the ground, to see her response.

"Ah...," she replied. "Thank you, sir."
Starting to turn around and leave, she glanced back. Walking back, she asked, "And what about you, sir? Will you be fine here?" Meredith looked up at the sky. She sat down quietly. "Seeing as how I'm late and lost, it wouldn't really matter to stay here a bit longer." She smiled, "I'm Meredith. My brother asked me to come to the capital of Erivale to stay and live with him, but he's on army duty. Won't be back for a month. Why are you here?"
She looked over the young man. He was dressed completely in black, yet she felt certain she could trust him. She couldn't sense anything dangerous about him. Turning to get a good look at the elf, her as well. Slender and graceful as any elf, but nothing dangerous about her either. Meredith relaxed.

"I'm sorry, I don't really know my way around either, I just arrived here a few hours ago." Laielyn apologised. "That's why I'm sleeping in the park..." She added a little dryly, a half-smile on her lips. She returned to answer Trysten's question, and easily slipped into talking about her magic. "See, the thing is, at the moment, I can't really..." She explained, a sheepish look on her face. "When I'm especially tired or stressed, I sometimes let loose some form of energy - magic, I suppose. I think I could train myself to stop it, I just can't decide whether to take it any further..." She leant back against the tree and looked up at the stars. "I have nothing else to do, I suppose." She shrugged. Giving a slightly wolfish smile at the mention of a Spies Division, she looked back at Trysten again. "That would be so exciting..." She breathed. "I think you'd be good." She said truthfully. "If you're a good fighter, and you really want to join... those are better reasons than any!" ((EDIT: Ack!!! Sorry, we both replied at the same time!! Still, it doesn't loook like anything messed up there ))

//ooc: Lol.//
Meredith listened calmly to the elf talk. Gathering from her words, they seemed to be talking about joining the Army. What if I joined? I may get to see my brother, who is in the Swordsmen Division, Meredith wondered. She chuckled. What could she ever do in the Army?
"Yes, those are good reasons. So, are you two planning to join the Army?" Meredith asked lightly while gently plucking a dandelion from the grass. "I would like to go in the Army, but what could I do?" Meredith sighed. "Maybe the Archers Division..." She shook her head gently and closed her eyes, "The Spies Division would be so exciting..." She opened her eyes and smiled, "I don't know you well, sir, in fact I don't even know your name, but if you're up to adventure, the Spies Division would be for you!"

Trysten smiled and nodded at Laielyn and Mereith's comments. He looked at Meredith and then remembered that he hadn't told her his name yet. "My name is Trysten," he began. "As you've probably gathered, the main reason that I came to Erivale was to join the army." He remembered that she'd mentioned that her brother was in the army. He wondered if he would be in the Spies Division. He was slightly nervous about enlisting in the army. He didn't know how well he would be able to handle it. But he knew that he natural ability at being stealthy would aid him.
He looked at Laielyn. She seemed perfectly content with the thought of sleeping in the park, and he admitted to himself that he wasn't entirely against it either. And as the time passed, the chance of getting a room in the inn seemed less likely.
"Which Division would you join first if you wanted to join the Mages?" he asked Laielyn. He knew that to be a Mage you needed to first reach the rank of Page in one of the other Divisions and wondered what Laielyn's choice would be.

Laielyn nodded to the newcomer. "Yes... Thinking about it at least. Are you in the Army?" hearing Trystan introduce himself, she also made an introduction. "My name is Laielyn."
Answering Trystan's question but carefully addressing them both, the elf continued, "I didn't actually... know you had to join another division first." She faltered. Then, as if suddenly changing ehr mind, she said, "But what have I got to lose? Um... what other divisions are there?" She asked beseechingly. "I don't really know much about it. Just that I'd like to train up my magic, and that the Spies sound like they could be one big adventure." Her eyes glinted a little dangerously, and then faded. "But I don't have a clue how to handle a weapon..." She looked down at her slight frame. "And, unfortunately, I don't think I'd be able to pick finished with a wink.
