Carmen slowly walked in. She had thought that joining the army would help her to forget her old jobs. She saw the Sovereign sitting in the desk. She wasn't quite she how to begin. "Um..." She felt very shy all of a sudden. "My Lord," She began promtly. "I have come to join Arinesse's army. I wish to enlist in the archery section, then work my way to a Dragon Rider. I alreay own a bow and a quiver, and as soon as I raise the money, I will but myself a sword. I want to join the army to forget other thing I hav done, and it has always been my dream to became a Dragon Rider." She bowed her head, hoping he would respond.

The Sovereign looked over the girl. She seemed new to Erivale, he thought to himself, however she spoke politely and seemed to know what she wanted.
"Becoming a Dragonrider," he mused out loud, "Is a fine goal to be sure, and I will accept you into the archery division Carmen. But please do not rush into anything, think carefully about the choices you are making. Being a Dragonrider is hard work, and it is tougher to be accepted into that division." he paused, watching the girl's reaction.
"I'm sure you will work hard to achieve your goal, and I wish you luck. You will be working with the Earl Christoph, a good friend of mine, and you may commence training as soon as you wish." he added Carmen's form to the growing pile on his desk.
"I hope you enjoy your time in Erivale." he added, before dismissing her.

Carmen's green eyes sparkled with excitement. "I won't let you down, My Lord," She said before walking out. A dragon rider! She thought.

Meredith entered the Recruitment Office, after wandering the town. It was now or never anyways. She sighed. Her heart was beating quickly, and she tightened her hold on her white staff. She knew joining the Archers' Division was the right choice, but what of joining the army? What would her brother think? She wanted to surprise him with something nice, not something he wouldn't enjoy.
"Your Majesty," Meredith bowed before speaking further. She stood up and avoided looking into his eyes, because it wasn't proper for a commoner to face royalty with boldness. "I would like to enlist in the Army in the Archer division, sir. Never mind that I'm a priestess. My physical strength makes me unfit for any other division, and my aim makes me perfect for archery. I will have to work on my arm strength a bit more, but..." Meredith stopped and smiled. "Sorry, I'm talking a bit too much."
Examining the Sovereign, she could tell he was a fit ruler. His face showed how hard he had worked for this country, and his eyes were just. "And sir? Pardon my boldness, but I do believe you're a very fit ruler for Erivale."

The Sovereign considered the request of the girl stood before him. He smiled slightly as she said she thought he was a fit ruler for Erivale.
"Well, it appears you are certain about joining the army," he paused, looking at her. She didn't look like someone who would enjoy the army, but he knew well that looks were often deceiving. "If you are sure that it is what you want to do, then I will accept your application. The Archery Division is under the command of Earl Christoph von Trapp, and all of your training will be done with him."
He took the form that she was holding and glanced down at it.
"You can begin your training as soon as you wish. Good luck," he said as he dismissed her.

Scarlet entered the office much less nervous than first time. She stood before the Sovereign, wishing she had waited outside to get her breath back, as she had run all the way here. She looked a state, still in her sparring clothes and her hair in a messy plait, but none of this mattered as she was far to absorbed in what she was doing to notice.
"You Highness," she said, then paused, her chest rising up and down rapidly due to excitement and not the exercise. "I have completed my training with Earl Christoph in the Cavalry division to Page... and I wish to apply for the Dragonrider's division."
She stood infront of the Sovereign, hands clasped behind her back to stop them from shaking.

The Sovereign nodded as Scarlet explained her wish to join the Dragon Riders Division. He remembered the way she had applied to join the Cavalry, and he noticed the same determination in her voice.
"I have been informed of your progress to this level by the Earl, and if you wish to join the Dragon Riders then I have no problems accepting you into this Division," he paused to make a note on the scroll in front of him. "Your training will continue with Lady Alianna. However, you must first recieve your dragon egg. If you make your way to the Dragon Keep then Lady Alianna will meet you there. I wish you the best of luck with your dragon, and training."

"Thank-you your highness." replied Scarlet, buzzing with this news. My own dragon she thought, then bowed slightly to the Sovereign, the only thing that restrained herself from hugging him was a large guard who stood menacingly in the corner.
"Thank-you so much." she murmured, then walked outside silently. Once outside the doors she leaned back on the wall and closed her eyes. It was actually happening and she needed to calm herself down. She stayed there for a good few minutes, before half running half leaping from the office towards the Dragon-keep.

Nelra pushed open the recruitment office doors and strode towards the Sovereign's desk, looking, she hoped, a lot less nervous than she felt. She knew that what she was about to do was what she wanted, but she was still fairly nervous about it. She stopped before the desk and clasped her hands behind her back.
"Your Highness," she said in greeting, "I've completed my training to the level of page in the Calvary division, and I would like to join the Dragonrider's."
She stood patiently infront of the Sovereign waiting for his descion.

"Nelra.." began the Sovereign, his hands clasped together infront of him, elbows on his desk, "The Earl informs me how well you have done in your training, and I have no doubt you will do well in the Dragonriders division...however..."
The Sovereign paused, wondering how to phrase his next sentence, "You are new to Erivale, and I feel that you should get to know the city better before you rise so highly in the army, once you have done this I will allow you entry to the Dragonriders division. you need not reapply here, just head straight to the dragon keep where Lady Alianna will see to you."
(OOC: Basically Nelra, you must have at least 20 posts to join the 'upper stages' of the army. Originally admin had made it so that you needed to have two stars to join, but 50 posts was a lot to ask for (as this is a relatively new site), so it has been reduced to 20. The reason for this is admin realizes how hard people work towards becoming a dragonrider/mage and we don't want things to be too easy for new members, and also because it's more of an achievement when you finally make it. When you reach 20 posts, Lady Alianna will post with your egg choices in the Dragon Keep. Please note, the above applies to everyone wanting to become a dragonrider or mage, not just Nelra.)

Nelra was slightly disappointed at what she had just been told, but she didn't let it show. She let the Sovereign know that she understood, before turning around and walking towards the recruitment office doors. If getting to know the city better was what she had to do before she could be a dragonrider, then that was what she would do.
She reached to doors and slipped out, wondering where she should head to first. Her stomach grumbled, reminding her she hadn't had anything to eat in a while. Well, that solves the question of where to go first she thought. In a few days, I'll be able to get my dragon, and, I'll know this city like the back off my hand....well, maybe not quite that good... she thought looking down at her hand. Without a moments more hesitation she headed off to explore the city.

Carmen confidently walked into the Recruitment Office. Her hair was in two long braids, and her eyes were sparkling. She saw the handsome Sovreign sitting the and slowly decided on what to say.
"Excuse me," She said to get his attention. "I have finished my training with Earl Christoph, and I want to apply for the Dragon Riders division. I feel that I am ready." She played with the ends of her braids, waiting for him to reply.

The Sovereign looked at his notes about Carmen, reading the breif summaries the Earl had written concerning their training sessions.
"Well Carmen," he began, "It seems that you have finally achieved your goal. Lady Alianna will meet you in the dragon keep with your egg choices. Congratualtions."
He knew that for many, joining the dragon riders was a lifelong dream. He added as an afterthought:
"This is a big commitment though Carmen, and there's no turning back. I hope you are 100% sure in what you want to do. All the same, I wish you the best of luck."
He then dismissed her, and turned back to his paperwork.

Matthew walked slowly into the Recruitment office. He saw the Sovreign sitting at his desk. A look of Admiration in his eyes, he stood up slowly and said. "Excuse me. Sovreign." He waited for him to lift his head. "I have come to join the army. I'm Matthew Sparkle and I'm going to apply for the Swordman's division, until I apply for Dragon Rider. I feel that I should join the army because there is a lot of things that I could do for Erivale." He hoped that was a good reason, and secretly wondered where Elizabeth was.
