This is the place to enlist in the army. As you walk through into the room, you see The Sovereign seated behind a large oak table, quill in hand. You must state which section of the army you wish to join, what weapons you own, and why you wish to join that particular section of the army. When The Sovereign has replied to your request, you may begin posting in the training grounds. You may also add "Recruit in the [Name of Division] Division" to your signature before you gain any levels through posting. See the ' Army Rules' thread for information about each of the different sections, before you apply.

After searching around the village of Faydell, Draken took his new horse to the main city of Arinesse. He intended on signing up for the army. As far as he could see the sooner he signed up, the more chance he would have of getting a high position. After carefully tying his new horse outside he wandered into the recruitment office. Behind the desk sat a tall man whom Draken realised must be the Sovereign.
"I am here to join the army" Draken said with a suprising amount of confidence. Section: Swordsmen Weapons: Silver Longsword Reason for joining: "I am a reasonably skilled fighter sir. I belive myself to be an asset to your army and i also believe it would make my father proud"
Draken stood looking at the sovereign and waited for an answer.

The Sovereign looked the elf up and down, then nodded.
"Yes, I believe you will be an asset to my army young elf," he stated simply, watching for the elf's reaction. He took Draken's application form, dipped his quill in ink and signed the bottom then handed the parchment back to him.
"As you may know, I am the commander for Swordsmen at the moment, so your training sessions will be held with me. You may visit the training grounds whenever you like, as you are now a member of my army, but remember the burden the comes with that. If you dishonour yourself, you dishonour me."
Valros nodded his head, in a clear dismissal.

Drakan couldnt help but grin at the Sovereigns approval and bowing elegantly, he eft the building. Once outside Drakan let out a yell of relief and excitement. He had never felt like he belonged before. Grabbing his horse, he wandered in the direction of the employment office to see what was on offer.

Scarlet pushed open one of the double doors, and slid through the gap. She walked over to the desk where the Sovereign sat, and smiled nervously.
"I'm here to apply for the army, your Highness" she said, speaking as politely as she could. "I wish to join the Cavalry section. I already have my own horse, and an elven sword and bow. My reasons for joining the army are, that I wish to become a Dragon Rider, like my father. I think the cavalry section would be good to train in up to page..." here, her confidence finally faltered, and she fell silent, dipping her head slightly and waiting for the Sovereign to reply.

Valros looked over Scarlet, she seemed young, but determined.
"I will accept you into the cavalry division..." he looked down at the form she had filled in, "...Scarlet. You will commence training as soon as you wish with The Earl. He is an experienced rider and a good teacher, I'm sure you will do very well with him."
He signed the bottom of her form and handed it back to her.
"Welcome to Erivale's army Scarlet." he nodded his head, indicating she may leave. Following in your father's footsteps is as good a reason as any to join the army he thought to himself. He had no doubt she would work hard to achieve her goal.

Nelra opened the doors to the Recruitment Office and strode in confidently. She was finally going after what she wanted, and nobody was going to stop her...hopefully. She reached the table where the Sovereign sat. Once he had finished talking to person already there she spoke up.
"I'm here to apply for the army, Sir." she said, handing over her application form. The form reads as follows:
Section: Calvary, then Dragonriders once I've achieved the appropriate rank. Weapons: Longsword, Bow and Arrow Reason for Joining: I want to do something worthwhile with my life, and I believe that joining the army is a very worthwhile thing to do.
She stood, with her hands clapsed infront of her, waiting patiently, but nervously, for the Sovereign to either accept or reject her. She sincerily hoped it was the first option.

"I am happy to accept you Nelra, it seems to you have a similar goal to Scarlet here. There is just one thing, do you already own a horse? You may borrow one of the palace ones if not. Otherwise I am happy to congratulate you on joining my army, you may commence training with the Earl as soon as you wish."
The Sovereign, looked down from the two girls momentarily, adding Nelra's name underneath Scarlet's in the army register.

Scarlet smiled at Nelra, she knew her from the elven realms, not very well, but it was someone she knew all the same. She was also glad someone else was in the same boat as her, someone who she could talk to about the army. She smiled to her, not wanting to say anything infront of the Sovereign.
"Thank you Sir," she replied, "I will begin training as soon as possible." she curtseyed politely, and inclined her head to Nelra, then left for the stables to tell Drakan the good news.

Nelra smiled, she was well on her way to being a dragonrider now. She allowed her mind to wander a bit, imagining what it would be like, to be a dragonrider. She was brought back to earth by the Sovereign's question. "A horse, yes I have a horse." she answered, silently berating herself for forgetting that.
She glanced over at the other girl, Scarlet, as the girl left, she thought she might look vaguely familiar, but she wasn't sure. She stood there, not sure whether or not she was allowed to go yet. Figuring that she probably was allowed to go, as there wasn't anything else that she knew of that she still had to do here, she turned around and walked slowly out of the office.

Post by Trysten Aradar on Aug 1, 2006 21:40:59 GMT
Trysten wandered into the Recruitment Office. He felt slightly bad for saying that he would enlist later with Meredith and the others, but he had become restless, as he sometimes did, and knew that he would continue to be until he enlisted.
Trysten hadn't seen The Sovereign before, and he was younger than he had expected him to be. He coughed slightly, clearing his throat. "Excuse me, sir," he began. "I'm Trysten Aradar, and I would like to join the Army." The Sovereign looked at him, with a look that told Trysten to carry on. "I would like to be part of the Spies Division. I do not have any other weapons than my knife, but I have some skill with a bow and arrow. I want to join the Spies because I think that it's where most of my skills lie, and I have wanted to be a part of your army for as long as I can remember," he paused, looking up at The Sovereign. He hoped he had said enough to secure a place.

The Sovereign listened as Trysten explained his reasons for joining the army. He had been skeptical of him when he entered, as the young man didn't appear to look very well built for being in the army (although Valros knew well that looks could often decieve), but he was satisfied when he requested to join the Spies.
"I will accept you into the Spies Division, Trysten, but you will be under my Command for the time being, so I hope that you are sure this is what you want to do," he paused and watched as Trysten nodded, bowing his head. "Well in that case, you may begin your training when ready."

Laielyn skipped into the building, her heart skittering much like her footsteps as she wondered what fate awaited her inside. She had made her decision to join the Cavalry, but when it had come to it, she had found it easier simply to join and join rather than to announce it.
"Excuse me, your majesty." She bowed down low, and then lifted her head slightly so that she could see who she was talking to without appearing rude. "I would like your permission to enlist in the Cavalry division, with the intention of reaching the level of Page and then transferring to the Mages division. I own my own horse - a good mare called Eryn - and am a good rider, despite my slight weakness in physical strength. I hope that I cn be an asset to your army."
Hoping that her wrds had convinced him that she was good enough for the Army, she waited with baited breath to see what he would say.

"Yes, I do beleive that you will be an asset, so you are accepted. If you could just fill in this form first." The Sovereign handed her a sheet of paper and a large green quill, and waited patiently for her to fill in her details.
"Earl Christoph will assist your training for cavalry, I am sure that you already know that when you reach the level of page, you are then eligible to return here and apply for the mage division."
He took the sheet from her, and placed it safely with the other applications. "Well Laielyn, welcome to the army. You may begin training as soon as you wish. I hope to see you here soon! You may leave."

"Thankyou, Sir!" Laielyn tried not to crow too much in her delightment, but coudln't help adding a small speech for good measure. "I am truly honoured to have been accepted into the Army. I hope that my skills will serve the army well, and that I can bring honour to your Kingdom... Thankyou, my liege."
Bowing again, the little elf skipped back out of the Recruitment Office.
