This is the main inn in the city and is always popular. It contains a large number of rooms, starting from small single bedded rooms, for the poor traveler to large luxurious rooms with lavish decorations, for the wealthier citizen. No matter which room you stay in, they are clean and even the cheapest rooms contain all the necessities for a comfortable stay.

Meredith walked into the inn and continued walking straight up to the innkeeper. Her brother was out of town and she needed a place to stay until he returned. Her mare was tied outside, and her cloak dripped water onto the floor from the rain from before. Planning to visit the library next, she hurriedly spoke to the innkeeper, but still with the hint of kindness in her voice, "Please, sir, can I get a room for a week? A simple room will do. Here's the pay. Keep any change."
She drew out a few coins and put them onto the table. The innkeeper handed her the keys to her room and she left, heading for the library.

After the long hike, Crythis reached Arinesse. The city was truly a wonderful sight and he smiled at this land where fate had dropped him. He immediately wanted to explore, but he needed a place to stay first, so head wandered over to what looked like the largest Inn in town. A few men were wandering around as Crythis strode in confidently and asked the innkeeper for a room for at least a few days. He handed the man a few coins out of the pouch, and then an extra one. "I'd prefer it if people aren't told that I, Crythis, am staying here." He said just loud enough for the passing people to barely hear. The innkeeper looked quizzically at Crythis, but shrugged, took the money, and handed him the keys to a room. "Heh, now they will wonder who I am, and why they haven't heard of me yet. They will ask their friends, who will seek me out. Excellent." He thought Crythis went up to his room, unpacked what little he had, and bathed. Once he finished, he took a quill, ink, and one of the sheets of parchment he bought in the market and carefully drew a map of the area around Swyncrest including an imagined and vague trail leading off to the west, complete with vague-yet-important-sounding landmarks. At the end he drew an 'X' with a flourish and added in small letters, "10ft down, treasure of the chancellor of the island of gold". He took this decoy map, crumpled it a few times, dropped water on it, and left it conveniently on the desk in the room, next to the other parchment and pen, for a surprisingly convenient copy method. "I'll just keep this here for the next few days in case somebody breaks in." Then, once he had finished preparing against stupid thieves, he gathered his coin pouch, tied it to his belt with twine to avoid pick pockets, and left the inn, keeping only the dagger in his boot with him. * * * The next morning, Crythis woke with a stretch and a yawn. His excursions the night before didn't yield much, the criminal underworld would be tougher to find than a single look could give. The people in the square seemed interesting though, he thought he might like to run into either of them again during the day, perhaps ask them about this land. But first, it was time to look for emplyment, he doubted that any job would satisfy, but it was worth a shot, maybe he might swing by the castle, and see what they had to offer as well.

Meredith returned to her room, tired from her explorations. She flung herself on the bed and slept peacefully. She would need it, for tomorrow she would enter the army. ***** Meredith awoke and sat on the bed for a while, pondering everything that happened yesterday. She made a lot of new friends, she realized and smiled. The sun shone through the window making dancing patterns on the floor. The view was lovely. She got up, bathed, and dressed, and then proceeded to sort out her belongings. She would be here for a month anyways. Spending an hour on sorting and cleaning, Meredith stood back to admire her work. Feeling sastified, she washed up and prepared to leave. She brought her cloak and her bow, and left the room and the inn.

After booking a room, Scarlet climbed the three flights of stairs to the floor she was staying on. On opening the door, she was immediately glad she had chosen this room, as it offered a beautiful view of the city. To her right, was the palace, and in the distance, she could even see Swyncrest on the horizon.
She dropped her bag onto the bed, and inspected the room. It was decorated sparingly, but that suited Scarlet and everything seemed clean and comfortable. She unpacked the belongings from her bag, which wasn't much, just a few necessities. Then she washed in the small adjoining bathroom, changed and collapsed onto the bed, feeling exhausted. I'll just rest my eyes for a few minutes... she thought, before falling into a deep sleep.

Nelra walked slowly into the inn, her feet dragging across the floor. She was exhausted, she'd been riding for what seemed like ages, but she'd finally made it to the human realms. Soon she'd be able to make her wildest dreams come true, but first she need rest. A good, long sleep and then she'd be ready to go and apply to the army. She walked up to the front desk, paid the innkeeper for a room for a few nights, got her key and slowly trudged up to her room. She dropped her saddlebags as soon as she was in her room, (she'd already taken her horse to the stables) and plopped down on her bed. She pulled off her boots, leaving them on the floor wherever they happened to drop. She knew she should wash up a little, but she didn't have the energy for it at the moment. She laid down on her bed, asleep the moment her head touched the pillow. *** She woke up several hours later, feeling refreshed and ready to do what she'd come here to do. She got out of bed, washed up, and changed into some clean clothes. She strapped her sword and belt around her waist, she wasn't sure if she'd need them right away, but better to be safe than sorry. Once that was done she shoved her feet into her boots, trotted down to the front desk. She paused there briefly, to ask for directions to the army training grounds and the recruitment office, then trotted off out the door. She was so excited and couldn't wait to get started.

After tirelessly explaining to the staff of The Fair Dragon Inn that her Dragon hatchling was not a dangerous fire hazard (well, not yet anyway!) Scarlet carried her small Dragon hatchling to her room and sat him down on the bed. It stared up at her with large emerald eyes, and she couldn't help but smile. She sat down cross-legged beside it and took three strips of dried meat from her bag. These were devoured instantly, and a small mouth lined with equally small - but very sharp- teeth, opened wide, wanting more. She waited patiently whilst it ate the rest of the meat.
"Right," she said, "I need to give you a name- but first...I need to know if your a boy or a girl..." she went to lift the Dragon up, but recoiled when it gave an indignant squeal.
"Oh, sorry..." she said, running her finger down the spines on it's back apologetically. "O.K, well we'll have a go anyway..." Scarlet ran through lists of names, pausing after each one for the Dragon's reaction. It lay almost motionless on the bed, occasionally flicking its tail lazily. After almost an hour Scarlet had given up.
"Fine!" she said, flinging herself down on the bed, "Why don't I call you something unimaginative like...like..Greeny then!" The Dragon pricked up it's ears and put a small claw on Scarlet's stomach.
"I am not calling you Greeny!" she said with a smile, "But if you like colours...theres bound to be something... what about Jade or Peridot? They're green stones..."
The Dragon stared at her.
"...Emerald?" she asked, I could call you Emer for short..." This time the Dragon hissed. Boy came a thought. Scarlet almost fell off of the bed in shock. "You spoke! You can...I mean, well I knew but, I didn't think..." she trailed off. The voice had been like a thought in her head, So this is what the mental link is like she thought to herself. Yes the Dragon replied. Scarlet smiled, no longer shocked. I guess my thoughts aren't private anymore...! Yes came the Dragon's voice in her mind. It seemed young, although definitely male. Can you only say yes? Scarlet asked, a bemused smile on her face. The dragon didn't reply, so she gave up and continued out loud.
"Well, if you're a boy...how about I call you Meral, that's a shortened version of Emerald, well the middle part anyway." The Dragon gave a strange chirping sound, apparently not wanting or unable to communicate mentally. Scarlet sat with Meral until the early hours of the morning, when she dropped off to sleep, her small green Dragon curled up beside her, his scales sparkling in the candlelight.

"SCARLET!!!" Drakan yelled loudly. He had been looking for her for what seemed like hours before he had remembered that she was staying in the Fair Dragon Inn. Now he stood in the lane outside yelling at the top of his voice. "SCARLET!" He wasn't sure which room she was in, and the staff had refused to tell him, so he had taken to calling loudly outsde each window. So far he had earned himself three crude names, several insults and the last window he had tried had resulted in an old lady throwing her dirty washing water at him. Now he looked a state and was under the last window in the Inn. Please be in here Scarlet he thought hopefully. He didnt want to think that all this had been in vain. He looked up at the window and saw the curtain twitch.

(OOC: Your post made me lol!)
Scarlet awoke to the sound of her name being called, and was vaguely aware of another voice swearing loudly.
"What the...?" she said, sliding quietly off of her bed, and walking barefoot over to the window seat. Meral too was awake now and followed her, wide-eyed. She pulled back the drapes and unlatched the window then leant out into the dimly lit street below. She could see a few other windows from the inn just being closed. The evening air was cool, with a strong breeze that blew the window wide open.
"Who is it?" she called down, straining to see as the figure was standing in the shadows. He stepped forward into the lights from the inn and she recognised him at once. "Drakan!" she cried out, leaning so far out of the window she was in danger of tumbling out completely. Her voice echoed loudly down the street, so she continued in a quieter tone, "What on earth are you doing...? And...and...is that a sock in your hair?" she raised an eyebrow, the expression on her face was something between amusement and disbelief.

Drakan wondered what Scarlet was talking about when he remebered the old woman. Reaching up he pulled the grimy sock from his head and threw it into the shadows. Looking back up he was about to explain what had happened to him when the old lady wandered out of the back door to the inn. "Oy!" She yelles at him "Give me my sock!" Grabbing him by the ear she pulled him over to the sock he had just thrown. "Pick it up!" she screeched. He did as he was told and the lady huffed her way back into the inn. Drakan was too shocked to move. Helooked back up to Scarlet and said "I'll tell you later" He grinned. "How are-" Drakan stopped dead "Scarlet.." he said softly, "Don't move...there's a...a DRAGON!" he screamed and began to run to the door. However it resulted in him tripping over a patch of weeds and ending up flat on his face, still yelling.

Scarlet couldn't help but smile as she watched the old woman manhandling Drakan. She decided not to ask why he had her sock, there was probably a far fetched explanation knowing Drakan...
She propped herself up on her elbows, watching Drakan sheepishly returning the womans sock. Meral climbed up to the window ledge where he could get a better view, his claws scratched along the wooden ledge, chipping the varnish. The old woman had apparently returned to her room, and Drakan walked back over to the window. On seeing Meral perched on the windowledge, he began to scream.
"Drakan..." Scarlet began, trying to explain. Drakan fell forwards still crying something uncomprehendable. "DRAKAN CALM DOWN." Scarlet yelled over him. When she had his attention, she returned to a half whisper. "Do you want the old woman back out here? Come up to my room, we'll talk in here. It's number 39 okay?"
With that she swung the window closed. Meral remained beside the window gazing out across the rooftops of the city. Are you alright? Scarlet asked Meral didn't move at first. He looked at her for a moment, unfolded his wings then glided down, landing on the floor beside her where she was standing waiting for Drakan.

Drakan sprinted up the stairs past the little old lady who was coming out of her room again. "You!" she yelles, but Drakan ignored her. It wasn't on purpose he just hadnt really heard her. He was in far too much shock and awe to do so. He ran at the door labelled room number 39, expecting it to open. However in true Drakan fashion, he hit the floor with a thud. He opened his eyes to find himself looking at the ceiling. "urgh" he groaned and dragged himself up. This time he pushed down thehandle and collapsed on Scarlets bed. He had forgotten about the dragon...

Scarlet laughed as a bedraggled Drakan came into her room, the old woman appeared to have followed him up the stairs, she may look old but she was surprisingly agile taking the stairs two at a time. Drakan collapsed onto her bed.
"Drakan!" Scarlet complained, "You're soaking wet..." She walked over to close the door, just as the old woman walked past probably returning to her room. She nosily peered into Scarlets room and, on seeing Drakan collapsed on the bed, gave Scarlet a look of disgust and muttered something under her breath, which sounded distinctly like 'hussy'.
Scarlet rolled her eyes and slammed the door loudly. Meral growled at the closed door, then turned round with Scarlet to face Drakan.

"Old bat" Drakan muttered and rolled himself of of the bed. Landing on his knees he turned round to face Scarlet and...the dragon? "What is that?" he asked in a disgusted sort of voice. "It's kind of cute..." He smiled at the little green creature. "What's your name then little lady?" he asked holding out a hand.

"That's my dragon." replied Scarlet proudly, "I've been accepted in the dragonriders division. I was going to find you to tell you- but I haven't had a chance. I had to choose from- " Scarlet was cut off as Meral took the oppurtunity to bite into Drakan's outstretched hand.
MERAL she cried out mentally, Stop that!He let go immediately, still baring his teeth at Drakan. What did you do that for? she asked angrily, scooping the small dragon up into her arms.
"Meral is a boy," she explained to Drakan, "And I think he's a bit jealous of you..." she sat Meral down on the dresser, where he looked at her with a wide-eyed innocent expression. She turned back to Drakan,
"Lets have a look at your hand," she said, feeling bad at Meral's actions. She took Drakan's hand and looked at his palm, "His teeth may be small, but they sure are sharp!"
