Vincent was finally in Arinesse. Here he would find the records of his parents, start a new life... and properly make a prayer for Akita to rest in the afterlife. He stood in front of the tavern which the guard suggested , reading its sign. The Swan and Staff He sighed. Knowing that some people knew him and his travels, 'Gray eyes Valcari' some knew him as...but what they knew him from the most was his famous 'partner'. His sword Akita was what most men feared , as for he gray emotionless eyes when Vincent was after his target. But he wished for that to be behind him now.
Vincent walked toward the door, and pushed it open. The people of the tavern kept to themselves , or their friends. Vincent smirked under his cloaks high collar, and tugged his straw hat down to cover his face alittle more. He wasn't sure if he was wanted here..he couldn't risk it,and spent his new life in the dungeon. He calmly made his stride toward a lone table near a corner, and rested his cross spear down against the chair. Keeping his wet cloak and hat on, he rested his eyes in thought of what to do for sleeping arrangements for the night. He opened his eyes to see one table of guards looking over at his table. They seemed to be looking at Akita, which Vincent kept strapped to his back, still sheathed. He turned away to see it was a busy night..and he wasn't that thirsty so he could wait alittle longer before moving from his spot to get service.

Sapphire walked into the tavern. She was bored and had nothing else to do. She ordered a soft rum and took a drink. She noticed a few men playing poker but payed no attention. She also noticed a few undercover guards in the tavern too. She smirked and shook her head. Taking a drink of the rum she stood. She walked around looking at pictures and posters. She smiled and saw the Soverign as a young boy. She giggled slightly and returned to her seat.

Dade watched with interest as people entered and left the tavern. The boy who he had noticed before was still sitting by the fire, and he still appeared to be soaked.
His eyes flicked back to the door as it creaked open again and a girl walked in. She found something funny as Dade saw a smirk pass across her face. He looked away, wondering where he was going to go from there. He had almost finished his tankard of ale, and he decided that ordering another would not be a good idea, considering the lack of change that currently inhabited his pocket.
He brushed away the strands of red hair that had fallen over his eyes and picked up his tankard again. He was about to take a sip when he paused. A sudden memory came rushing back to him and he was caught off guard. It happened sometimes; the consequence of trying so hard to forget something. He breathed in and took a drink. He hoped that Arinesse would lead to a new start.

Vincent's eyes opened slowly as he heard the door open, He looked up to she a beautiful girl..he thought it was Akita. "..Akita?" He spoke softly to himself. Vincent shook his head once, shutting his eyes No..I held her in my arms for her last words...She might look alot like my love..but thats not my Akita.. Vincent thought coldly. He decided to get up and finally get a drink. He lowered his hat once more , and pulled up the cloak's collar. He still carried his sword on his back. As he headed for the counter, he was shoved by a losing drunk of a poker game. "Ehey, Watch were you be going.." His breath smelt of heavy liquor, Vincent said nothing and tried to move on ahead. The Dwarf he bumped into got very upset with this. "Stop..You ungrateful maggot....do you know bumping into a dwarf means taking your own life!" The dwarf stuttered on some words, and hiccuped a few times. Vincent sighed, and turned around. Then he bowed in respect of the dwarf. "Please forgive me, Sir dwarf..I hadn't had a clue that i bumped into you..." The dwarf thought he was being disrespectful, and mocking him. "THAT'S IT!" The dwarf threw his mug at Vincent's covered head, and tackled his feet, trying to knock him over. Vincent was surprised at his tackle, and stumbled over. He struggled to free himself from the dwarf's grip, by swinging his leg at the table. The table slammed against it's back ,as he yelled in pain.Vincent freed himself, and walked over to the counter like nothing happened. Not noticing the dwarf rising up. "Excuse me..I would like to order a cup of green tea please..." Vincent told the barmaid, who nodded with a frighted look. Vincent sighed and looked down. He hated when people feared him...well at least when innocent people did.

Laielyn sauntered into the pub, her arms swinging as she walked briskly forward and just brushing against the soft fold of her dress as they did so. Smiling and nodding at the peopel gathered about, she settled herself down at the bar and winked mischevously at the bartender. "Rosewater, please." She asked politely, and, gratefully accepting the drink, she took several long draughts before swivelling around on her chair and critically examining the others gathered in the tavern.
On the floor was a rather disgruntled-looking dwarf, a dazed look resting upon his face; she had no doubt he had been in some fight or another. To her right was a man with dark hair, and to her left was a beautiful young lady and a man with shocking red hair. She looked curiously at him - people in these arts were rarely coloured so. She wondered if maybe there was some fae blood in him.
The elf flicked her fair hair from ehr face, sighing irritably as a few ispy strands fell into her eyes, and then placed her glass on the side while she gathered up the loose strands and braided it hastily over one shoudler. At least now it was out of the way. Distressedly noticing the crumples in her dress, the elf was already regretting having just slept outside without finding a place to stay the previous night. She smoothed out the creases, and, sighing heavily, removed a random leae she noticed poking out from her braid. Attractive. She smield to herself, fairly amused at the thoguth of how she must look.
Still, she had never before bothered about how she appeared to strangers, and she wasn't aboyt to start now. Resting back in her chair, she satisfiedly slurped at the water and simply sat, content to people-watch.

Vincent unbuttoned his high collar, so he could taste his tea. A elf woman stood next to him, and he thought about Akita again , its like he was seeing her everywhere today. He gave her a calm stare as she got her drink, and then turned to his drink. He could hear the dwarf getting up, mumbling something about being a bit taller he could win. Vincent walked back to where he was sitting..which he found the woman at the bar. He stood there, hoping not to say anything for her to get off.

Laielyn levelly returned the man's stare, mildly amused to hear the dwarf muttering insults at hm - clearly this was whome he had fought with - and then watched the man walk away. She shifted herself into a more comfortable position - previously she has been perched at the end of a long bench - and drained the last of her water. Yanwing widely, she stretched out, and then lazily returned her attention to the tavern.
The man had returned, and was hovering near to her, not saying a word. "Can I help?" She asked, mentally assessing him. It was a game she liked to play; to guess the character of a stranger, and to see how accurate she was. If truth be told, she wasn't very god at the game... But she liked to play nonetheless. She suspected this man was a fighter.

He left to get his cross spear before he return to see her, but he knew she didn't mean to take his seat. Vincent took off his straw rain hat, to reveal his serious eyes. "...Forgive me..but I.." He now thought it was abit childish to quarrel over a seat. "..forget it.." He spoke low, and calm. He heard the voices of the guards from the back. "..Gray eyes Valcari, here?! In Arinesse?" His eyes widen. as they got up,and walked over toward them. "Damn..iam a wanted threat in Airinesse afterall.."He said to himself softly, but loud enough for the woman to hear him.The dwarf laughed and took his war hammer off the table it was on. "Hehehheh..Time to get yours human!"He chuckled,as Vincent looked at the elf woman , and thought how he could get out of this..but it could get him in worse trouble. He reached for his dagger so carefully, no one could tell he was moving his arm.

Laielyn's eyes narrowed a little as low mutterings flitted back and forth through the pub. The hackles on the back of her neck raised up like a cat's; she felt uneasy, but at the same time she was intrigued... "If you are a wanted man." She replied in response to his comment in equally as low a voice, "Then it was not perhaps the best idea to start a fight..." Her tone was mild. She had no wish to antagonise someone potentially dangerous, but she felt at no threat - she was in a public place, after all.
Sitting uncomfortably in her seat, a phrase she had been told countless times thourhgout her life echoed hollowly in her mind: Curiosity killed the cat.

Vincent closed his eyes, and made a somewat smirk. "..I didnt start the fight..the dwarf did..but what you should be worried about, is not I..but" He drew his dagger so quick it made a grey blur, and held her wrist behind her back with the dagger's blade to her neck. "..Yourself."He whispered in her ear as he opened his eyes, and they had narrowed. The guards stood back. Some people gasped, and stoped what they were doing. "The fighter for hire Gray eyes Valcari..He'll slit her throat! Some one stop him." A guard that entered the tavern said. The people mumered to each other. They knew about this fighter for hire, this Mercenary.
"Forgive me...But i came here to find my parnets records..not go to prison..."He whispered in her ear. He didnt want to do this...but he would get them out of there safely.

Laielyn arched an eyebrow and ran a dry tongue over her lips. Trying not to see this mysterious man see how her hands trmbled, she flinched as the cold metal brushed against her throat.
"Clearly your reputation precedes you." She muttered, her voice breaking towards the end of the sentence. Swallowing, she tried to reaons out what exactly was happening. She had no wish to be kidnapped, but she wished even less to be killed - there was far too much she wanted to do before that happened, and it seemed to her that any form of resistance would result in such. She must get herself out of immediate danger... She would allow the man to use her to escape.
This was hardly the first time her inquisitive nature had got her into trouble, and besides, she wanted to question this man. Unresolved issues, death-threats... the whole thing reeked of adventure, and she wasn't about to allow such an opportunity to pass her by.

Dade's attention was immediately caught by situation that was unfolding by the bar. The man who had entered had put a knife to the throat of an elf. Dade's eyes narrowed. He knew that he was not involved, but he felt an urge to do something, which surprised him slightly. He put his hand under his cloak and wrapped his fingers around the hilt of his sword.
He slid closer to the edge of his seat, and tensed his muscles, ready to move if he was needed. He knew that standing straight up at that moment could cause the situation to escalate, so he didn't rush straight in. He was still feeling slightly awkward about getting involved as it wasn't something he would normally do, but he didn't particularly want the guilt of not intervening on his conscience on top of everything else.

Vincent nodded as she said that. "Heh..well thats the price for being hire from this countries enemy..." There was something about this woman..she was much like Akita... Vincent noticed how the room stood still except that bothersome dwarf. "Eh,Who cares for some elf ..kill the Gray eyes there!" The dwarf looked around, the people didn't react to him. this made him abit mad. "Fine,I'll be the one to do so!..Prepare yourself foul human!" The dwarf's hammer hit the ground, making the floor quake abit.He rushed at Vincent and his captive. Vincent closed his eyes, and sighed. The dwarf went flying back after his face met Vincents kick. That's was his chance to leave. He took the dagger away from his captive's neck and threw it toward the guard at the door. The guard's eyes widen and he fell backward dodging the blade, but his his head on the wall knocking him out cold. Vincent took two herbs from his bag, and made a hand gesture as he dropped them on the ground. He then knocked a glass filled with whiskey and he smirked as it made a smoke screen. Vincent had enough time to take his spear, hat and captive out of there before the smoke screen cleared.

Trysten had leapt to his feet when he saw that Laielyn had become a part of the conflict between the man who had recently entered, and the rest of the customers. His hand had rushed to his side, and he had pulled his dagger out, waiting for an opportunity to help. Watching as the situation began to escalate, he swallowed the lump that was caught in his throat, and discovered a new sense of confidence. He had trained for months to become a competent spy and assassin, and he knew that he could handle the situation.
He tried to catch Laielyn’s eye, but couldn’t be sure if she had seen him. The dwarf, who also seemed to be a key player in the event, said something else, provoking the man. In quick succession, one of the guards was forced to dodge a flying dagger, and the man and Laielyn were shrouded by a cloud of smoke. Trysten took his chance. He grabbed the shoulder of the man with the shock of red hair, knowing that he would need assistance.
“If you can fight then you must help me save Laielyn,” he said hurriedly, hoping the man would consent to helping

Laielyn glared at the dwarf, miffed that she had been so easily overlooked in the situation. Still, at least the rest of the crowd gathered in the tavern seemed a bit readier to help her.
The red-headed man stirred, and she saw a flash of metal in the hand of a second man - Trysten! She hadn't noticed him here before; she had a split second to wonder what he was doing there before her captor released a handful of herbs and a cloud of smoke erupted about them. Coughing as the stuff caught in her throat, she barely had time for her thoguhts to process before she was whisked out of the tavern.
