Jessai could hear alot of noise in the tavern, and she began to feel slightly afraid. She wasnt used to lots of people but knew that she needed to become so. Entering the inn, she could see that there was some sort of fight going on. Scared stiff, she stopped dead in the doorway, letting the door swing shut behind her. She saw a flash of steel in someones hand and an elf being pulled towards the door. She backed up until her back was flat agains the door. Her eyes wide, she hoped she wouldnt be in the way of the strange man.

Dade's attention was diverted from the scene before him, as the dark haired man- who had previously been sat, dripping wet, by the fire- grabbed his shoulder, and requested his assistance. Dade knew he had not come to Arinesse to get involved in other people's business, but he also knew that he could not sit idly by while an innocent girl was taken hostage. He made his decision.
He nodded to the dark haired man, and stood up beside him. His hand was clasped around the hilt of his sword, and he stood ready to draw it when the time came. However, the scene had a sudden change before him, and the man and his hostage vanished beneath a cloud of smoke. He pushed his way through the bystanders to the door, and stepped hurriedly into the cool air outside, hoping the dark haired man was following behind.

Vincent was on his way out of the tavern with his handy alchemy mist still in its progress, He could hear his captive coughing. He was thinking about where to go.. and the man he saw just before he used his alchemy... he would follow Vincent and Laielyn. Vincent knew this for sure. Also before he made it down the street in the doorway..a another girl had stopped him ...the look in her eyes...Vincent had spoken to her in a few quick words before he picked up Laielyn, and dashed off. What he did with his interaction with this last witness was this.. Vincent knew he had only seconds before his light use of his alchemy mist would wear off. Everything was going to his quickly paced plan. Until he made it out of the tavern only to see a frighted girl. Vincent dashed past her, but it was like he slowed down as he spoke in a calm chilled voice. "...You were blinded by this mist...you couldn't see anything...no harm shall touch you" He didn't like to sound threating.. but he didn't like getting hanged ethier. Vincent would return to this city once it calms down..he would have to make it up for these people somehow... Now Vincent was holding Laielyn. Her head over his shoulder, cradling in his free arm. Vincent had his spear, Akita, and his hat..he forgot his dagger..this was a mistake that could hurt him sooner than he thought....

Jessai watched as a man she would have described as a villain passed her. He was dragging a small blonde elf along, and she was sure it was not a good situation.
As she watched them go by, the man seemed to utter a few words to her. Although she could never remember what they were.
Once the danger had passed, the public house seemed to return to normal. Conversatiosn were re-started and ale flowed once more. Jessai nervously approached the bar. "Excuse me?"
A round, rosy faced woman turned to Jessai smiling. "How can i help you love?" She asked in a loud but friendly voice. Jessai explained that she had a job here and the woman seemed to be over the moon. "I'm Lieka," she said, almost pulling Jessai over as she ushered her behind the bar, "Right, if you just start serving customers..."
Jessai felt slightly out of her depth as customers began to approach her. Although she managed quite well. She was soon used to filling tankards and glasses with different drinks but her conversaion skills were still lacking somewhat.
"Talk girl!" Lieka kept calling to her. And Jessai tried. It was just a case of not knowing what to say. All the same, jessai was sure she would soon improve. She looked around the room, wondering who would order a drink next.

Vincent was now on a roof top of a building next to the city wall. He looked down at Laielyn, she seemed to be semi-conscious from the mist. ..Its not fair I brought you into my conflicts...But i can't let you just remain here to tell the guard about me...nor do I wish to kill you.,Vincent thought to himself in a regretting way.
Vincent laid her down on the roof top, for he saw guards paroling the wall. Vincent lowered his hat, and jumped onto the wall. the guards were shocked to act. Vincent kicked on off, and into the moat below. The second guard was no longer in shock, he thrusted his pike at Vincent. He took the blow in his arm, and stopped his cry for pain. Vincent quickly drew Akita,. The beautiful, enchanted, elven characters shined in the moonlight, as for Valcari's emotionless eyes. He swung, broke the pike, and knocking the guard out..leaving him alive..barely. Vincent hid his damaged left arm, as he jumped down to Laielyn. He sheathed Akita, and strapped his cross spear to his back. He then picked Laielyn up again in his good arm. He could feel her heart rate, and soft breathing against his chest. ..Well, at least she's returning to consciousness..I just hope she doesn't struggle... Vincent thought with a sigh. But just looking down at her..reminded him of his departed love Akita...He wanted to make sure this girl was alright "...Miss,..are you alright? You didn't inhale too much, did you?", vincent asked in a soft tone.
He kept his hat on to hide his concerned look. He really didn't want to bring more death..thats why he didn't kill the guards since his recent vow to longer take any ones life to mask his heartbreak from losing Akita.
No one knows him as a good man, but the fighter for hire Gray eyes Valcari..He was hoping on starting a new name here..but messed up his chance, but maybe with the help of this young girl..could he find the purity he desires.

Laielyn blinked hard several times in succession, the haze before her eyes slowly disappearing. She glanced dizzily about her... where was she? From the barrels piled up nearby and the openess of the sky, she was going to assume they were on a roof. She gave a low, hacking cough, and then opened her eyes properly.
She looked about, regaining her bearings. Hearing the man speak, she looked up at him curiously. She had been hoping to get a better look at him, but his face was concealed beneath a hat, and sohis character remained elusive to her still. "I don't think I breathed in to much of it..." She said slowly, nervousness just edging her voice. The Miss was odd.
She sat up, a little unsteadily, and wondered if Trysten would be following close behind. "So... who are you?" She asked. "The people back there called you Grey Eyes... Does that mean anything?"
Laie had been brought up being told that if she wanted anything, she had to ask for it, and she had carried this through with her into adulthood. So she wouldn't hesitate in asking this stranger questions. Tehre was no harm in asking, after all.

Trysten had followed the red haired man out of the public house, pushing people out of the way as he went. His dagger was clasped tightly in one hand, but as he passed by the unconscious guard by the door he saw the dagger that belonged to Laielyn's captor. Without thinking he picked it up as he hurried past, and slipped it into his own sheath. Once out of the tavern he saw the red haired man looking for the man they were trying to follow. Trysten's keen eyes surveyed the area. Suddenly he spotted them.
"There!" he yelled, pointing to the rooftops.
He ran to the side of the road and began to climb the wooden supports of the building. He signaled to the red haired man to follow him, and hoped that he would. He would need help when he reached their target. Trysten's arms were fairly strong from the hours of training he had had as a spy, and he was no stranger to climbing buildings. Even so, he realised now that picking up the other man's dagger may have been a mistake, as he now had no where to put his own, and didn't fancy cutting his mouth by holding it in his teeth. Somehow he managed to climb to the roof, using his dagger to pull himself up. He stood on the roof, and saw that the man was on the next rooftop. He tried to see if Laielyn was alright, but he couldn't see from the angle where he stood. He held his dagger firmly, and stood his ground.
"In the name of The Sovereign, I order you to relinquish your hostage," he said with an air of authority that he didn't realise he had.

Vincent got up from Laielyn's side , and looked around the area. He knew that man who pulled his dagger out right before the mist started would cause trouble soon. She asked her questions, But Vincent was still silent ,as he analyzed the area around them. Thats when he heard the climbing struggle of the man. He sighed as he took his spear behind his back. "Your questions are going to have to wait...sorry." Vincent said in a annoyed way.
He peeked from the eye slit of his hat between his high collar of his cloak. He heard the man's demand. He only put his cross spear down in a idle manner. "...I have no wish to increase my possible sentence to the judge.." Vincent said in a low cold voice. He noticed this man held a dagger...he was fighting ether a thief or a rouge. A mage was also possible so Vincent still had his guard up, even as he walked back toward Laielyn. "Friend of yours?" He asked in his usual chilled and ever so clam tone, as he stood next to her watching Trysten's movements from over his shoulder.

Laielyn jerked her head up, ad then squeezed her eyes shut as the blood rushed to her head. "Trysten?" She muttered questioningly. "You make an awesomely good spy..." She added as a sidenote before returning to her captor.
"I'm sure they can wait, as long as they're eventually answered." She said reluctantly, unwilling to stop questioning him before she'd found out as much as she could.
She looked uneasily between the two, hoping things wouldn't come down to a fight; she had no wish to be the cause of any violence, much less between her good friend and the man she hoped to befriend soon. The man's voice was so cold though... Laielyn wondered if he would not hesitate in fighting.
Whatever the two intended to do, she would fight tooth and nail to keep them apart.

Dade watched as the man in front of him reached the top of the building and pulled himself onto the roof. He began to climb up after him, as the dark-haired man had signaled to do so. It took all of his strength to pull himself up the wooden supports, but his light frame made things a little easier. He climbed as fast as he could, all of the time wondering how he had become a part of the strange scenario that was unfolding. It had not been his intention to get himself dragged into problems that did not directly concern him; after all, he had enough of his own to contend with.
Reaching the top, he hurled himself up, and rose to his feet. The dark-haired man was a little way away from him, and the man they had chased was standing on the next rooftop. He listened as the dark-haired man demanded the release of the hostage, and noted the tone of authority in his voice, wondering if he was an army leader of some sort. He listened to the other man's response and frowned. He could see that the girl he had taken was conscious, but that didn't yet mean she was out of danger. Dade stood still with a look of determination on his face, and every muscle in his body tensed for a sudden change in situation.
"What are your intentions?" he asked, hoping the man would explain why he had taken a girl from the public house. Dade was still trying to get the chain of events straightened out in his mind.

Vincent had to smile at what she last said, just too bad no one could tell under the high collar. but soon after he changed to a displeased frown when he saw yet another person after him standing next to the dark haired man. He asked his question, and Vincent shook his head, and still kept his spear down. "I have no reason to explain myself..you just couldn't understand...No one could." He spoke,as cold as the breeze from the wind blew. He walked closer to the edge of the roof top he stood on, not far enough so Laielyn could run off with out him sensing it. "...But I have no intention of killing anyone, and i suggest you try not to make me change that.." He looked back at Laielyn, then over at the dark haired man, and the new shocking red haired man, which reminded him of the dwarf he knocked out in the bar.

Laielyn looked a little hazily over at the red-haired man who had caught her attention in the bar earlier. She got a better look at him now. He seemed fairly slim and light-framed, and a troubled expression rested on his face. In comparison to the other two men, he seemed younger as well. Her curiosity was once more lighted, but she slightly unwillingly shrugged it off in favour of finding out more about the two she already knew.
A chill breeze buffeted at them on the rooftops, tugging at her cloak and making her shiver a little. At least it woke her up. She shifted ever so slightly closer to the other side of the roof, although she knew she hadn't the physical strength to risk an escape with him standing so close. It was funny; when he spoke his voice sounded as cold as the wind. But, somehow, he didnt feel cold. In the same way that Trysten had a slightly hard exterior, so did this man seem slightly sad.
Sitting heavily back, simply watching as the events slowly unfolded before her - for that was all she could do - she wondered what exactly was going to happen. She was curious.

Trysten frowned as he remained staring at the man holding Laielyn. He had stated that he did not wish to hurt Laielyn, but he still had not revealed what he intended to do. He could not escape from the position he was in, at least not without Trysten and the red haired man following him. Trysten glanced at his red haired ally who stood nearby. There was something about him that he trusted, though he had not seen him around Arinesse before. Either way, he was glad that he was not alone.
"If you do not wish to make your reasons for taking a hostage known to myself or my associate then you must have no good reason to remain holding her in your possession," Trysten said, hoping either that the man would explain himself, or release Laielyn. He suspected the latter was rather unlikely.
He had heard Laielyn mutter his name a minute or so before, so he was slightly relieved to know that she was conscious, and aware of what was going on. He still did not like the fact that he didn't have any idea why the man had taken Laielyn from the bar. As far as he could tell, if he had chosen to leave the Public House no one would have stopped him anyway. The man must have had some other reason that Trysten wasn't yet aware of.

Vincent heard the dark haired man speak again. He was getting very stressed over each word. He reached for Akita's handle.. but then shook his head, and placed his arm down at his side. "If you really wish to know..you'll have to forget about it...Just leave before ou force me to break my vow of drawing any more mortal blood to this sword and spear..." He spoke the last part in a soft regretful tone.
He winced once he felt a slight pain in his arm, were the pike from the guard stabbed him. the blood was slowly spreading on the tunics sleeve. I can't last any longer than a few more minutes..I must act or I'll end up in the prisons of this city...,Vincent thought to himself. No one could tell his pale expression face from underneath the hat and high collar. He was waiting for the two to act before he would pick up Laielyn and run off.

Laielyn was growing increasingly bored with just listening to the two before her talk at each other; she was not the type to sit and watch life just pass her by, and so she got unsteadily to her feet. The effects of the mist were rapidly lessening, and with every inhalation of breath she felt herself grow stronger.
"St-stop it!" She said, her voice shaking. Stop what, she wasn't quite sure. But she wanted to do something. She felt an uncontrollable surge of magic rise up inside her, a few wisps of smoke just leaving her fingertips. She hastily stopped talking, frightened of what her magic could do - and she was still too drowsy to halt it if it did anything. She stepped back again, hoping that the two of them would not start to fight. But then again, she was unsure what else Trysten could or would do - and, of course - she had no way of predicting how her captor would react...
She wavered in the breeze, unsure of what to do...
