The Ballroom is a large beautifully decorated room at the heart of the Palace. Large sparkling chandeliers hang from the ceiling creating an elegant atmosphere for the guests. At the far end is the orchestral booth, where Erivale's finest musicians serenade the guests whilst they dance until the early hours of the morning.

Sapphire walked through the beautiful ballroom. She blinked her sapphire eyes. She began to dance beautifully around humming a beautiful song. She began jumped and twirling and her voice grew. She began to sing. There's a song that's inside of my soul. It's the one that I've tried to write over and over again I'm awake in the infinite cold. But you sing to me over and over and over again.
So, I lay my head back down. And I lift my hands and pray To be only yours, I pray, to be only yours I know now you're my only hope.
Sing to me the song of the stars. Of your galaxy dancing and laughing and laughing again. When it feels like my dreams are so far Sing to me of the plans that you have for me over again.
So I lay my head back down. And I lift my hands and pray To be only yours, I pray, to be only yours I know now, you're my only hope.
I give you my destiny. I'm giving you all of me. I want your symphony, singing in all that I am At the top of my lungs, I'm giving it back.
So I lay my head back down. And I lift my hands and pray To be only yours, I pray, to be only yours I pray, to be only yours I know now you're my only hope.
She finished sitting on the floor. The emerald dress sprawled out on the floor. She blonde hair was laying on her back beautifully. It was the song her mother taught her. She smiled to herself. I did it for you mum...

Elizabeth had started her first day of cleaning the Palace. She was a maid and loved exploering, but wasn't very eager today. She walked into the Ballroom, her tearstained, sorrowful face Looking around the magnificent room. She sighed, and saw the girl sitting on the floor. Her usually bouncy walk swayed as she walked towards the Girl. "May I help you Miss?" she asked, trying not to make it sound like she was crying.

* * *(OOC:The Ball is now open: It will be running from Monday 25th of September until Sunday the 8th of October. Anyone can post in the ball, there will be dancing, food and music, your character should come dressed to impress! All admin and moderators will be present, so it's a chance to meet them, as well as meet with other people. This does count as an IC thread, so please bear in mind that your character can only be in 3 IC threads at one time. Happy posting!) * * * The Sovereign stood at one end of the ballroom, flanked by Lady Alianna and Christoph. He was pleased with the scene before him, the food had been prepared especially with Erivalean specialties as well as some foreign elven and dwarf dishes. The music had just started up and the guests should be arriving anytime. The Sovereign was dressed for a formal occasion, he was even wearing his crown (which he didn't wear often as it was particularly uncomfortable). He waited patiently, amusing himself in a discussion with Alianna and Christoph until the guests arrived.

Sapphire walked into the ballroom. Her beautiful blue gown shined in the lights from the chandeleers. her beautiful hair was laying loosly on her back. She had a long box laid across her hands for the Sovereingn. She is one of his Trainees and had a beautiful sword for him. It was a beautiful sword with a pure silver handle. She walked up to him and did a small curtsy. She then layed the box and flipped it open showing the sword, "For you." she said. Her voice was flowing and bold as she said the words. She stood and smiled. She nodded her head and waited for a response.

Elizabeth walked into the Ballroom, remembering the many times that she had cleaned it. The crying look had faded from her face and she was looking much more confident. Her hair was done up in such a way that it covered half of her face. Her gown was a beautiful golden color and had some blue in it. She saw the girl giving the Sovereign a present and felt slightly embarrassed that she hadn't brought one. Then she walked to wards the wall at the side. Her shy side was coming out a little. Trysten wandered into the ballroom and looked around. The music was playing in the background, and he noted The Sovereign at one end of the room talking to the Earl and Lady Alianna. Valros saw him looking at him and Trysten nodded in respect.
He spotted Sapphire nearby and tried to see if there was anyone else around that he knew. So far she was the only one. He made his way over to the side of the room so that he wasn't standing in the middle of the room on his own. He hadn't been to a proper ball before, and he dressed as smartly as he could. As he watched girls enter wearing beautiful dresses, he wondered if anyone else that he knew would arrive.

Sapphire spotted Trysten and decided to say hi. She gathered her dress in her hands and walked over to him. She smiled brightly and waved. She finnaly reached him and said, "Hello Trysten. Glad you could make it." she said. She smiled again and nodded her head.

The Sovereign was slightly perplexed for many reasons as Sapphire handed him a sword. He studied the girl trying to place her, he vaguely recognised her from the army recruitment office. He was slightly taken aback that she had presented him with an ornate sword. For one thing, this was not his ball; it was his niece’s. Quite how this girl, a newcomer to the city, had managed to afford such a weapon was a mystery to him.
Nonetheless, he didn’t let this show. “Thank-you, Sapphire” he replied graciously, handing the sword to a nearby manservant and instructed him. “Have this taken to the armoury, Paothin.” The servant bowed and hurried away. The Earl exchanged a quick glance with the Sovereign as Sapphire walked away to greet Trysten.
The Sovereign looked at the ornate clock, wondering where Roseanne had got to.

Roseanne hurried down the steps to the ballroom, equally anxious as she was excited. Her hair had been pristinely curled, and she was wearing her best dress. It was made of mauve silk, laden with white lace, it had long elbow length sleeves and wide sweeping skirts sewn with tiny creamy flowers. She wore a single string of pearls around her neck, and two small pearl drops in her ears.
Swallowing loadly, she gathered up her skirts and hurried down the stairs to make her entrance. She could feel her heart thumping in the back of her throat and she felt numb all over. Two guards, dressed in their smartest uniforms, opened the doors for her and she walked into the room. Everyone turned to face her and she felt all the colour drain from her face- she hadn't imagined there would be so many people here yet. She replaced the petrified look on her face with a small smile.
Rose scanned the room quickly and spotted where the Sovereign was standing, she made her way past the musicians and took her place beside him. She let out an inaudible sigh of relief, glad that the hard part was finally over.

Scarlet walked up the corridor to the ballroom, amazed at the beauty of the palace. She reached the ballroom doors which were already opened, two guards stationed either side. She was wearing a full length pale blue gown. It was the best thing she could afford with what money she had. Her golden hair was down, and looked shorter than it was as it fell in soft waves from where she had slept with it coiled in a braid. She wore a simple pendant and no other jewelry. As she entered the room, she looked for someone she knew, but the room was quite busy and rather than standing gormless in the doorway, she moved into the crowd. At the far end of the hall, she could see the Sovereign with the Earl, Lady Alianna and a pretty girl she assumed was Princess Roseanne. She stood a little way back, watching them, and generally enjoying the sophisticated atmosphere that was so alien to her. (OOC: Link to a picture of Scarlet in her dress, well, kinda what it looks like anyways. thought I'd find one as all the other girls had! www.jimhjelmoccasions.com/dress_db_occ/images_lg/jh5626.jpg

Morgan staggered into the room clutching his side. He was badly bruised, but he had no memory of exactly how it had happened; he had a vague recollection of being in a tunnel... But he was unsure where, or when, or even how he had managed to injure himself. He had just woken up in a long hall in the palace, and so he had concluded that some whim of fate had brought him here.
He was thankfully dressed not too shabbily, his usual black outfit standing out just a little too much against the colourful background, but at least the bruises were well-hidden beneath his waistcoat. He blinked, trying to bring his vision into focus, and then walked a little more steadily over to a refreshments table. It always took him a little while to adjust after his alter ego had kicked in.
Knocking back a glass of water he instantly felt better. The elf-human crossbreed looked about the room, looking for someone to talk to. There was obviously no one he recognised, but maybe he'd introduce himself to someone new? Groaning, he clutched again at his side and sank down into a chair at the side fo the room.

She jerked around hearing someone groan. She grabbed her dress and told Trysten she would be right back. She quickly walked over the Morgan. She had a set, worried expression on her face. "Sir. Are you ok?" she asked. Her sapphire eyes looked into his. Peircing his. She gave a quick smile.

The Earl decided he had stood with the Sovereign for long enough, "Come on Roseanne," he began, "Let us go and traverse across this floor and mingle with the people, we'll leave Valros and Alianna together for a bit shall we?" As they stepped down onto the ballroom floor, he cast a wink back at the Sovereign.
"You go and talk to a few people," he said, hastening Rose into the crowd, "I'll be..." he looked around and noticed a pretty blonde elf wandering by herself. "I'll be around." he finished with a smile, gesturing to nowhere in particular. He strode off into the crowd leaving Rose behind. He recognized the elf when he approached her, as Scarlet Aldsilver whom he had trained with in the cavalry division.
He stood before her and bowed graciously. "May I have this dance?" he inquired, as the music started up behind him and couples began filling the dance floor.
