Drakan laughed at Merdeiths words and replied "Well i only came here 2 days ago, but i'm the new stable master. I've also enlisted in the army" He looked harder at Meredith and studied her features. She's quite pretty he thought to himself but not so much as Scarlet. He wondered why he was comparing other girls to Scarlet and shook his head. He grinned at Meredith and said "I fell in that fountain yesterday"

Meredith laughed. Besides the fact that she was lost in a big city in the dark with a couple of strangers, she was having a pretty good first day. If only it could last. "You've enlisted in the army? I'm planning to join the archers division tomorrow. What divsion are you in?" Meredith ran her hand through the water again, enjoying the cool caress of the water.
"Oh... I just remembered why I'm here. Do you know where the inn is?"

"Swordsman division" he said cheerfully "Im a paige currently, but im training again later" He pointed across the square and sai "I think the inn is in that direction...but dont trust me completely!" He hadnt taken his mind off of Scarlet since he began his conversation with Meredith [ which he hadnt been paying his full attention to] and he hoped she hadnt noticed. "I should be going" he added quickly. By the way...you havent seen a blond elf of about my age, have you? Her name is Scarlet. I need to speak to her quite urgently."

"I've seen her," Meredith said, a bit surprised. "I was talking to her at the library. She might've left though." She truned towards the direction Drakan pointed to. She turned back and added, "Oh.. Thanks for the directions."

DRakan thanked Meredith for help too and watched her leave. Now that she was gone he decided to head to the library. Only problem was, he had no idea where to go. Meredith was way too far off to ask for directions from. Looking around he could see several exits from the square. He knew where one or two led and so just took a gamble and decided to head for the one closest to him.

[[oops, looks like I missed quite a bit. Here's what I replied back when the quesiton was asked.]] Crythis was so absorbed that he almost didn't notice the woman next to him. "Huh?" he replied, for a second, then did a social double take as his mind shook off the calm. Crythis lept to his feet and immediately did a quick (but awkward) bow. "I am terribly sorry miss Meridith, I'm afraid I temporarily took leave of my manners. And to you, as well... Drakan, was it? You'll have to excuse me, I find this place so peaceful, it's easy to lose track of my surroundings. I'm just a wanderer by the name of Crythis, new to this land and the city. However, I have recently procured a room in the largest Inn in town, and it lies, I believe, down that road. If you like, I would escort you there." Meredith replied that such a gesture wasn't needed, though was glad for the help. Crythis sat in on the rest of the conversation, barely participating. Noting the interesting people that shared this new city with him. Once everyone else took their leaves, Crythis stood and decided to continue his exploration with the parts of town most active at night, for every city has some underworld of crime, no matter how small, and those that ignore it, do so at their peril. * * * The next morning, Crythis returned to the city square on his way to a nearby restraunt, with a small group of people in tow. He was hoping that this place actually did serve breakfast, because otherwise he might end up looking pretty silly. Ah well, he was kind of used to that anyways.

Trysten followed Crythis into the square, whilst walking next to Laielyn. It felt strange walking with three other people after being on his own for so long. Trysten wasn't an unsociable person, but he did often find himself on his own, which suited him as well as being with a group of people.
He wondered if Crythis was heading towards the Inn that was in the city somewhere. Trysten hoped they were, that way he wouldn't get lost trying to find it later.
He knew he should say something to start a conversation, but for some reason he had gone back into his shy mood, and was having a hard time thinking of something worth saying. He hoped someone would say something to help him out soon, he didn't want to seem like he wasn't talking because he was rude.

Lailyn waltzed absently along next to Trysten, a little out of things that morning. She was not a morning person, and she had worn herself out with such a long ride over the last few days. She was thankful Crythis was showing them around, and although Trysten was being a little quieter than he had been over the past few days, she was perfectly content to just walk along chatting herself. If there was one thing she could do, it was talk.
"So, want to hear a good story?" She grinned amicably. "About anything... just give me a topic, and I'll expand on it! Let's see... monsters, dragons, pirates... Anything. For someone who has only just moved out of the countryside, I've had many, many adventures, I assure you!" She joked, winking.
Stretching out, she looked at the Square in the morning light. It was hard to believe that she'd only been here yesterday. Shrugging her shoulders, she continued to follow the two men over to where they would hopefully be selling some breakfast.

On the way to the restraunt, Crythis made about three wrong turns, but succeeded at playing them off as tour-related detours. Or at least, he would have succeeded if he actually knew something about the random roads he turned the group down. After the fourth building he introduced as the last known residence of the great adventurer Bob, he was getting some looks and a giggle or two from the group. Eventually he found the right place, and was relieved to see people inside were indeed eating breakfast. "So," he turned to Laielyn, "given that you are recently from the countryside, you clearly had to deal with the... uh... cannibal barbarian tribes of the northen wastes, right? And maybe after we hear your tales, your companions might be willing to share tales of their own harrowing adventures in this land."

Drakan had got bored hanging around in the stables. There had been no visitors today and he needed some form of communication. He wandered down some of the streets by the City Square. Most of them were pretty empty with just a few shoppers drifting in and out of the tiny stores. Thinking of finding somewhere to sit for a while he turned into another lane. Not far away were a reasonably large group of people. He recognised an elf from the day he fell into the fountain. "Hi!" he called, quickly walking over. "Laielyn right?" As he got closer he recognised Meredith, whom he had met in the city square when he was looking for Scarlet and a man whos name he couldnt remeber. Saying hi to them all he suddenly realised that there was another man there. who didnt seem to be making any effort to greet Drakan. Giving him a vaguely nasty look, Drakan turned back to the others.

Trysten frowned. The elf who he had seen near the fountain a few days before had joined their group, but instead of introducing himself like the rest of the people he had met had, he had given Trysten a nasty look and turned his back to him.
Trysten didn't particularly like being made to feel insignificant by people he had never met, but decided he would take a different approach than he may have done previously. He tapped the elf on the shoulder. "Um, I'm Trysten," he said, with his usual half-smile. "I don't think we've met."
He was unsure how the elf would react to him, and hoped he hadn't made a mistake introducing himself to someone who didn't seem to want to know him. But Trysten thought about it, and realised that he might have just interpretted things wrong.

Drakan turned round, surprised to find it was the stranger who had caught his attention. Drakan grinned "I'm Drakan" he said holding out his hand. he had obviously misunderstood Trystens timidness for rudeness. "Sorry i didnt introduce myself." Drakan was sorry he had not been more polite to this man but there was something that made him feel slightly uneasy. Drakan decided to ignore this feeling however and asked him how long he had been in Erivale.

Trysten breathed out slightly, glad that he hadn't inadvertantly caused any conflict. He was pleased with himself, he had made more friends in the past few days than he would have in a whole year normally. He took Drakan's outstretched hand, and shook it.
"I've only been here for a few days," he explained. "Are you from here?"
He followed the rest of the group into the place that Crythis had found for them to have breakfast. He was glad they'd finally found it, he was starving having not eaten since the previous lunchtime.

"Feel free to drop by the stables any time, any of you!" he said addressing, Crythis, Meredith and Laeilyn aswell. "Even if you havent got a horse! i'll be gald of the company!" he said his goodbyes and left the alley in a beter mood than he entered with.

Laielyn lifted a hand in greeting to Drakan, and wondered if perhaps she should drop in on her beloved horse a little later; it would be nice to talk to Drakan after all, and she needed to keep up her skills on horseback if she was truly thinking baout joining the Cavalry division. Yes She thought. []I'll drop by later.[/i]
She amicably watched Trysten and Drakan chatter away, absent-mindedly listening to their conversation, and then said goodbye as Drakan left. "Do you think.." she asked, holding her stomach, "That we could maybe get some breakfast now?"
Without really waiting for a reply, she dashed over to a stall selling bread and handed over a few bronze coins. Eagerly snatching the bread away from the stall-holder, she bit deep into the soft, doughy food with some relief. Her stomach growled, satisfied, and she hungrily tore chuinks from the bread with her teeth before wolfing it down. Under normal circumstances, she would not have eaten in such an uncouth manner - especially not in respectable company - but her hunger made her careless, and she devoured it regardless of the others standing around her.
