She smiled at Draken and said, "I have a horse named Ginger, she was once wild though." She remembered her father giving her too her.
"Carmen," Her father said. "Take care of this foal, and she will be kind back, but remember. When you don't want her, set her free into the wild, and she'll find her home." His handsome eyes smiled at his daughter, then he gave her the beige horse, and left.
Falling out of her memories, Carmen looked back at Draken. "I'm an Archery, but I've almost made it to Dragon Rider. I've always wanted to be one." Her green eyes sparkled when she spoke about dragons. All of a sudden, she began to fiddle with the end of her braided hair. She continued to eat the apple, and completely forgot she'd stolen it.

Drakan grinned as Carmen fiddled with her hair. He wondered if she was nervous or whether it was out of habit. "I'd love to meet Ginger. Feel free to leave her at the stables." He smiled "Oh and come by any time you want a chat, it gets lonely up there!" He bowed his head slightly and said his goodbyes. Despite his earlier misconceptions, he had decided that Carmen was not a selfish thief. I should stop jumping to conclusions He sighed.

Carmen waved goodbye to Draken and began to walk to the Inn. She had tied up Ginger there and had decided to get a room. I only hope I have enough money, She thought. Then she accidently bumped into a man walking the opposite way of her. "Oops!" She said, "I'm sorry," The man grunted and continued to walk away. Then Carmen realized she had five gold coins in her hand. I stole them! Was all she could think, she wanted to give them back to the man, but he had dissappeared. Well at least now I can pay for my room, she thoght, and continued to walk towards the Inn, feeling strangely guilty.

Nelra finished her meal as two of the people left the square. She washed her hands off in the fountain and flung the excess water off as she stood up. She wiped the rest of the water off on her pants then looked around. Now, where to go... she thought to herself. She didn't know where many of the streets led so she spun around in a circle. The street she ended up facing is the one she would take. After a few minutes she stopped and headed off dizzily down the street infront of her. I bet that looked awfully funny to anybody who saw. She thought as she walked away.

Drakan stood by the very edge of the city square, in a tiny lane which led to the backs of a few shops. He peered around the corner, looking out for any sign of Carmen. He was confused. Although the night before he had wanted to kiss Carmen, in the cold light of day, he remembered Scarlet and how she made him feel. He wondered if the ale had clouded his vision with Carmen, and sighing, he leant against the cobbled wall. There was something he liked about both the girls, but he didnt know if he wanted an intense relationship. He slipped further down the wall until he was sitting hunched over on the ground. A store owner hobbled past huffing and groaning. Drakan looked up and saw the elderly lady he hd met at the fair dragon inn. She had cursed him and thrown her dirty washing water at him already and not wanting any more punishment, he hid his face in his knees. But it was far too late. For the woman had seen Drakan already and was on her way to order him to move. "Urchin!" she screeched "You are dirtying my store!" Drakan wasnt going to be spoken to like this and standing up to his full height he yelled "Firstly i am not an urchin, and secondly if anyone is dirty its you!!"
The woman couldnt bear someone like Drakan talking to her this way, and with a screech of anger she grabbed him by te hair and pulled him ito her store. Drakan yelled several loud words which should not have been uttered.
Eventually Drakan gave up his protests and let the woman throw soapy water over him and scrub him with what seemed to be a horse brush.
An hour later Drakan emerged from the shop, hair scraped back and sprkling clean. However he did look a funny sight as he was dressed in the womans sons clothes, which were far too short in length. Andnow he had to meet Carmen...

Carmen walked into the square, hoping to meet Draken. Nexa wasn't following her, because she knew Draken didn't like dragons and Nexa had wanted to go on a flight outside the city. In the back of her mind, Carmen felt like she was flying.
She walked towards the fruit stand she had stolen from once. She had some money this time, so she paid the man and took an apple. She had her hair down and it was blowing in the wind. Slowly she walked to the fountain, wondering where Drakan was. Don't be to anxious, Nexa said, still flying. He might not have heard you yesterday and he did run away quickly. Carmen laughed to Nexa and thought. But the way he looked at me. How he just stared into my eyes...Nexa cut in. I just mean, don't get your hopes up. There may be more to him than you think.

Drakan stomped over to where Carmen was, a scowl upon his usually cheerful face. His hair was combed flat against each side of his face, and not a single strand lay loose across his eyes. He looked very different as he walked towards the fountain and he felt uncomfortable. The clothes he wore were several inches too short and he could hardly walk in them. He looked awful and he knew it. "Carmen" he moaned "Can you help me?" he held a look of such sadness in his eyes that not many would be able to resist.

Carmen saw Draken coming towards her and didn't think that it was him. She only recognized his voice. She giggled a bit before replying, "S-sure, anything I can do," She quickly toldnexa in her head and then sat down at the edge of the fountain. "What can I do?" Her green eyes sparkled with amusment.

Thanking Carmen for her help he threw a quick glance to the villaers surrounding him. Satisfied that no one was looking his way he drew in his breath and leant over into the cool water of the fountain. He pulled his head out fast sending a shower of droplets all over the cobbled pavement and Carmen. "I need to find some decent clothes" he sighed. Will you wait with Arkis while I go and buy some?" He signalled in the direction of his faithful horse who was growing tired of waiting. "I shouldn't be too long. You could head back to the stables if you like?" With that, Drakan sprinted towards a nearby tailors. He hoped that there would some form of clothes in there that fitted him. Luckily he was able to buy a pair of brown riding trousers and a grey shirt and he headed back out into the midday sun.

Carmen smiled as Draken fixed his hair. She saw Arkis and said to Draken, "I'll meet you back at the stables," She walked to Arkis and grabbed his reigns. It's alright, she thought, not knowing that she was sending it to the horse. Arkis seemed a lot calmer and she led him through the street. Then she had the sudden feeling of landing and a thought entered her head. Hello Carmen, Nexa said. Where are you? She asked her dragon. I'm at the Inn, tell me what happened later. I'm going to have a nap. Carmen giggled and felt sleepy, then normal again. Goodnight Nexa, she thought. She pulled on Arkis's reigns and headed for the stables.

One of the Sovereign's messengers rode into the city square on a dappled grey palace horse. He jumped down from the saddle and unraveled a scroll he was carrying, then nailed the following notice to a central post.
Sir or Madam- You, as a member of the Arinesse public, are duly invited to a celebratory open ball held at The Palace for the 17th birthday of Her Royal Highness, Princess Roseanne of Erivale.
Please dress appropriately. The Sovereign holds the right to escort any unwanted guests from the premises...
Satisfied, the messenger stood back admiring his handiwork, before remounting his horse, he had many more scrolls to nail up and it was getting dark.
(OOC: Anyone can post in the ball, and your character doesn't have to post here saying that they've read this sign- though you can if you want. The ball will be held in the ballroom thread and will begin once I or another member of staff have posted there declaring it open.)

Morgan sat heavily down at the side of the Square. He was tired, and hungry, and had no idea where he was. His stomach growled, and he blushed. "Man, I really need some food..." He groaned, massaging his temples. He looked at the sky with upturned, wide eyes, a hint of the blue reflected in them, and he sighed heavily.
It was quite hot for so late in the year, and Morgan was glad he was wearing relatively little in comparison to the heavily-cloaked strangers around him. He wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead, and shifted uncomfortably on the ground. This was ridiculous, he was going to have to find somewhere to stay - and something to eat.
His mind quickly returned to his stomach, and he prepared to gather up his energy and move.

Post by Danforth Loreli on Oct 24, 2006 20:08:21 GMT
Danforth trudged onwards, occasionally knocking into strange shapes which he guessed to be other people. He didn't care what they were though. All he cared about was that if they wanted to start something they could bring it on!... on second thoughts they could go away because he was feeling slightly nauseous. He fought back the urge to vomit everywhere, and instead made do for falling over face first into a puddle, where he lay, happily dreaming of fish and other friendly sea creatures... such a sea-horses.

Luckily, for both Danforth and herself, Jessai was stronger than most girls her age. She used all of her strength to pull Danforth off of the ground and onto a nearby bench.
"Danforth?" She said with both concern and disappointment airing in her voice. Danforth merely replied with useless babble of fish and the ocean, and Jessai soon gave up on her atempts at converstion.
"We need to get you somewhere safe and dry" She commanded but once again was met by slurred words.
Pulling Danforth onto his feet, she placed one arm around his waist and pulled his arms around her shoulders. She could just about walk them both to a nearby inn, she hoped.
[OOC i carried this on in the fair dragon inn]

Carmen walked into the square deep in the night. The fountain was flowing beautifully. Nobody was in the street and all of the shops were closed. It looked saw barren, but Carmen felt like being alone.
Carmen brushed her hair out of her face and sat at the edge of the flowing fountain. She looked into the water and saw a reflection staring back at her. Carmen did not know who this person was. The reflection had a lover, a dragon, a life. Her life had meaning and purpose, yet Carmen's felt as though her's didn't. She knew all these things were wonderful and she had restarted her life.
Carmen felt as though she was lying to everybody, except Nexa. Nobody but her dragon knew of her horrid past. Tears ran down her face as the memory of her leaving flashed before her eyes...
The rain fell hard on the road as a beige horse sped down it. It's rider's red hair was soaked from the rain. Carmen turned back and saw her pursuers. They were screaming and yelling, both on jet black horses. "Get that thief! Stop her, she's a murderer!" They yelled, making everyone in her village to turn and stare at her, all with disappointed faces. Her father looked up and Carmen saw tears on his blind eyes. Carmen couldn't stop to explain though. She fled quick and fast, pushing Ginger more than she had ever before. "Keep going girl," she whispered in the horse's ear. Then she saw that the entrance of the village was being blocked and she quickly made Ginger jump over and they ran off into the dark woods beyond the village, losing her pursuers.
The memory faded as quickly as it had begun. Carmen looked up from the fountain and wiped her eyes. She looked back and brushed the water with her fingers, rippling her face away. Then she longed for company, longed for somebody to hold her and comfort her. She looked at the paved path and tears streaked down her cheeks as the memory slowly faded.
