Scarlet entered the stables, Meral close at her heels. You'll have to wait outside she said Why? he replied, I could fit inside. Meral, this is a wooden building and you have a habit of sneezing sparks. The hay would be perfect kindling and soon the entire building would be ablaze.
Meral didn't argue and lay down outside, flicking his tail.
I won't be long, she said with a smile.
Once inside, she saw that the stables were quite busy. Drakan was talking with another elf, and she could see a girl sitting with her horse in a stable. Not wanting to disturb either of them, she headed straight to Ember's stable.
Hullo girl, she said, reaching into her bag and pulling out two sugar lumps she bought on the way over. After she had finished eating, she saddled her, then began to lead her out of the stables. As they walked past Drakan, she tapped him on the shoulder. "Sorry to interupt," she said, "I'm heading over to Swycrest, so maybe when you're done here?" She smiled at Nelra, she had seen her before in the recruitment office, then led Ember outside. At first, the horse was scared of Meral, but after a few soothing words from Scarlet, she seemed to accept that the dragon was here to stay.
I'll fly alongside you. Meral said I can't wait until I can fly with you. replied Scarlet, as she kicked Ember into a trot. In time Meral replied, and kicked off into the sky. Scarlet could feel pure joy radiating from him as he soared overhead.
In time she repeated with a smile, as Ember cantered away from the stables.

"Well...i do need to get some more hay from somewhere...If you wanted you could try the city square? Otherwise the four stalls over there" He indicated the back of the stables, "Need to be cleaned out" He grinned "Sorry, no fancy jobs im afraid"
After explaining to Nelra he remembered he had left Carmen in the stall with Ginger. He hurried back. "Sorry, i had to explain a few things to my new stable hand." He looked into the girls eyes and realised she looked slightly jealous. This made Drakans head swell. "Your hair looks nice today" he added.
They were interrupted by an appearance made by Scarlet. utterung apologies, he explained to Carmen that he had promised to go to Swncrest today, "But maybe we could meet for a drink tonight?"
[OOC carmen, if you accept the drink offer, start posting in a tavern or inn as soon as you want and i'll post back as soon as i can]

Nelra grinned back. "I never expected anything fancy. I guess I'll start on the stalls, and when I'm done I could go and get some more hay." She headed to the back picking up a broom and shovel as she went. Cleaning out stalls wasn't her favourite thing to do, but at the moment it seemed better than trying to find more hay.
She stepped into the first stall Drakan had indicated and set to work sweeping and shoveling the mess into a neat pile that would be easy to move later. Cleaning out four stalls would be a lot of work, but she didn't mind. It was simple work.

Drakan thanked Nelra and hurried out of the stables. He had to catch up with Scarlet. It was only once he had left the stables that he realised he had left his horse behind. Rushing back in he slipped on something and landed flat on his back at Nelras feet. He looked up at her and winked cheekily.
After he had pulled himself up and collected Arkis, he was away, forcing Arkis to ride faster and faster.

Nelra stiffled a laugh at Drakan's fall. She managed to hold it until Drakan had left the stables but then had to let it out. She continued on with her cleaning. Once she had two of the stalls cleaned out and the dirty straw in a pile between the two, she went in search of a place to dump the dirty hay.
She found a pile that looked as if it had had other loads of dirty straw dumped on it, so she went and started to add her stuff to the pile. She continued with her work, before long she'd be able to go find some more hay.

Carmen saide no to Drakens offer for a drink. "I might meet you there," She watched him leave, then left Ginger in her stall and started to walk back to the Inn. She had enjoyed his compliment about her hair, and wondered when he would be back. That doesn't matter, she thought. We're not that close of friends anyways. Carmen sighed, and brushed her red hair out of her face.

Nelra finished cleaning out the stalls and put fresh straw on the floor in each of them. She looked over her work, satisfied with what she'd gotten done, then put her broom and shovel away. She knew she had said that she would go and get some more hay, but she really felt like visiting either Faydell or Swyncrest. She hoped Drakan wouldn't mind that she had gotten the hay as she saddled her mare.
"C'mon girl, we're going to go see the sea." she said to Eclipse as she swung herself into the saddle and set off out the door.

It had been several days since Drakan had been to the stables. He felt guilty but he could see that Nelra knew exactly what she was doing. Still he thought i shouldnt stay away so long in future He pulled a lamp from the wall and carefully lit it. Now he could see slightly better he could tell that Nelra had spent alot of time here. He checked each horse in turn and finally stopped in Arkis'. He layed his head on his mane and clciked softly. Arkis whinnied and layed down in the straw.Drakan smiled, and pulled an apple from his pocket. Ginger, Carmens horse seemed to smell food and poked her nose over the barrier between the two stalls. Drakan put his hand deep into his cloak pocket and pulled out another apple. It was slightly bruised but "It will have to do" he told the nosy animal.

Elizabeth had finally found the stables and was tired after her fight with her brother. She slowly walked in, hoping not to run into the stable master. She still looked like she'd been crying. Liz saw Patches in a stall next too Rocky. She wanted to leave for a trip to Swyncrest, just too think things out, but she was much to tired to leave this night. Liz walked to Patches, pulled an apple out of her bag and fed it to the hungry horse. She then sat down next to her horse and stroked her head. Then her eye lids couldn't stay open and she fell into a deep sleep.

Carmen walked in, leading Arkis. Draken will be here soon. She heard Ginger neigh, and she pulled Arkis into the stall next to her. She let him go and started stroking Ginger. Her long hair fell down her back and the green sparkle came to her eyes. Then she saw the girl sleeping. Elizabeth? She thought. She didn't want to disturb her friend, but was wondering why she wasn't at the Inn. I tell Draken when he gets here. Then her thoughts were interrupted. Draken...draken...Is that all you think about? Nexa appeared in the entrance to the stables. Did you have a nice nap? Nexa walked closer. I had a wonderful nap, thank you. Carmen, not wanting to be mean asked Nexa to leave. What?! Carmen did have a good reason though. You sneeze sparks and Draken doesn't really like dragons. You understand. Nexa walked out snorting and mumbling. How are we supposed to get a stronger link if we spend no time...Her thoughts trailed off. Carmen sat down next to Ginger and silently waited for Draken, while looking at Elizabeth.

Drakan had walked the short distance from the city square to the stables as fast as he could and now he pushed open the door with the last bit of energy he had. His arms felt heavy and his legs tired. "Carmen?" he called loudly and was answered by a nicker from Arkis. He headed towards the stall and found Carmen next door with Ginger. "Thanks Carmen, I really appreciate this" he smiled and leant forward and gave her a small kiss on her cheek. He turned and left Ginger's stall and headed to the room at the back of the stables. His face had turned a deep shade of crimson but he didnt want Carmen to notice. He sat on an old wooden stall and looked around him. It was a ark and small room but it felt comfortable. The walls were hung with all sorts of tack and the floors were full of food bins. He checked all of the levels in the bins, and satisfied, he sat back down. *** After a short while Drakan grew restless. He needed to get away from the dark stables for a while. He took Arkis from his stall and told carmen that he was going for a ride. He said goodbye and left. The sun had come out and the ground, although sodden still, was just firm enough to ride on. He urged Arkis forward. *** Later that afternoon, Drakan swept back into the stables. He had been out in the fresh air so long that his cheeks had turned a rosy red colour in the cold. He was hoping Nelra was around as he wanted to invite her to the tavern with him. They had been working together for a while now but he hadnt really got to know her, and he wantd to. "Nelra?" he called as he entered the stables and put Arkis away.

Nelra had just arrived back at the stables after her trip down to Swyncrest and the beach. She'd stopped at the Inn for a quick change of clothes before heading to the stables to look after her mare. She had just gone through the doorway when she heard Drakan calling her name.
"Yes?" she asked as walked the rest of the way in and deposited Eclipse in her stall. She quickly removed the saddle and bridle, then shook out the wet saddle blanket, wrinkling her nose a little at the smell of wet wool. Now relieved of the wet tack, Eclipse eagerly turned to her food, while Nelra turned around to see what it was that Drakan wanted.

Drakan followed Nelra's voice and found her with Eclipse, her horse. "Hi" Drakan grinned. He looked at Nelra as she stood in front of him. Her hair was slightly ruffled by the wind and rain, but she still looked beautiful. Drakan watched as she turned and tended to her horse. She really is beautiful Drakan found it hard to tear his gaze frm the graceful girl in front of him. Shaking himself from his thoughts, Drakan wondered whyy he couldnt resist girls. "Feel like a walk?" he asked smiling at her. He hoped she would say yes. There were lots of places he wantd to investigate but it was never much fun alone. Plus Nelra was the company Drakan most wanted...

Nelra blinked, slightly surprsied by Drakan's question. The last thing she had expected was for him to ask if she wanted to go for a walk. "Sure, I'd love to. A walk sounds like a good idea. Just give me a couple minutes to finish." She turned around and rummaged in a saddlebag she'd left in the corner of the stall, producing a horsebrush a couple moments later. She gave Eclipse a quick brushing then tossed the brush back into the bag. She looked once more around the stall, making sure Eclipse had both food and water, before she stepped out of the stall. "Alright let's go."

Drakan grinned when Nelra accepted his invitation. He felt he needed to get to know his stable hand better. "How does the orchard sound?" he asked. He didnt mind where they walked, it was just nice to have some company.
